Quilts larger than baby size are quilted on Mrs.Singer, my beloved 31-15 which has a patent date of 1896 and could have been made as recently as the 1930s!! About

♥ A Day Seems Not Complete Until Thread and Needle Meet! ♥

I lost my job as an at-home medical transcriptionist in 2010 as a result of computer advancement in the area of voice recognition. Wow, I suddenly had a lot of time on my hands to quilt, and I've never looked back!

I always have quilt patterns running through my head and see them where ever I go. I have taken so many pictures of patterns I see that could be made into a quilt pattern, including concrete retaining walls near the freeway, clothes in shops, and women's bags. I see quilts everywhere I go! I love to write quilt patterns, taking the many quilt designs in my head and figuring out how to translate them into fabric and then onto paper.

I use only quilt-shop quality fabrics so your quilt will last for a long time, even with regular use. These fabrics cost between $9 and $12 per yard, and this is the main reason why my handmade quilts have a higher price tag than others made with lesser-quality materials.

I appreciate each one of you who stops by my shop. Maybe today I don't have the exact quilt or modest skirt you are looking for, but I might next week! If you have a specific idea or deadline in mind, I am more than happy to make custom items for you.

Please add my shop to your Favorites. This will help you remember where you saw that "really darling quilt" when you are ready to purchase one.

All items in my shop are proudly made by me in the U.S.A. Please support the U.S. economy and shop locally. My shop is a true cottage industry.

Thank you sew much! Myra~

All items are from our smoke- and odor-free home. We have an inside dog, so please do not purchase from my shop if you are allergic to dog dander. If you have more specific questions, please contact me.

Shipping
Your item will be shipped within 1-2 days of purchase. Custom listings are the exception to this. Please note the individual listing for the specific times.

A NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING CHARGES:
The cost of postage is not under my control. Insuring a package increases postage costs. I am not making money on postage and refund any overcharge that is greater than $1.

All handmade items are shipped Priority Mail with insurance unless stated otherwise in the listing. This does not include patterns or books.

Please note that buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred.

Items are shipped inside a plastic bag to prevent damage from moisture. Outer envelopes and boxes are securely taped shut along all edges that open. Shipping boxes, if Priority Mail is not used, are recycled boxes and are not new but are in excellent condition when they leave my shop.
Refunds and Exchanges
REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES: Not available.

LOSS OR DAMAGE IN SHIPPING: Seller is not responsible for loss or damage to a package in shipment. Some listings include insurance, and if the listing you purchase does not include insurance, it may be purchased for an extra fee, if desired by the buyer.
Additional policies and FAQs
CUSTOM ORDERS:
Custom orders are available using many patterns and your choice of quilting fabrics. All custom orders require a 50% non-refundable deposit before the start of any project. This deposit also reserves your place in my backlog of custom orders. I complete custom orders in the order in which they were received.

Payment for the remaining amount due plus shipping charges is due upon completion of the order. Busy Hands Quilts will notify the customer of the project's completion and create a custom listing for the customer to purchase. The second payment of a custom order is due within 15 days following notification of the completion of the project . If payment has not been received 15 days after notification of completion, and the customer has not contacted Busy Hands Quilts, the custom item will be sold in the shop and the customer's 50% deposit will not be returned.
