Bienvenido a Pero primero, Ganchillo. Soy Jessica, la dueña y creadora de todo lo que encontrarás en mi pequeña tienda. Mis principales amores son diseñar mantas para bebés y hacer juguetes para bebés prematuros. Me enfoco en el pulpo de ganchillo que se ha demostrado que mejora la salud de los bebés en la UCIN.
En 2018 di a luz a trillizos prematuros (2 niñas y un niño). Mi más pequeño pesaba poco menos de 3 libras. Mis bebés pasaron aproximadamente un mes en la UCIN y esos son días que están arraigados en mi memoria para siempre. Algunos son recuerdos de amor otros de miedo, emoción, ira, ansiedad, alegría... todas las sensaciones.
Desde que los trillizos llegaron a casa, he combinado mi pasión por el ganchillo con la defensa y ayuda a los bebés prematuros y sus familias. Soy activo con March of Dimes y me apasiona más que hacer ganchillo para bebés prematuros.
Las "espirales" de los tentáculos brindan consuelo a los bebés prematuros y recién nacidos que llaman a la UCIN su hogar. La forma en espiral les recuerda su cordón umbilical y flotando en el útero. Los tentáculos proporcionan comodidad y ayudan a evitar que los bebés en la UCIN saquen sus tubos de oxígeno, tirando de sus cables y cables. ¡Ayuda a mantenerlos cómodos e incluso puede elevar sus niveles de oxígeno!
Hago ganchillo todo yo mismo siguiendo las pautas de la UCIN y tomo la seguridad y la limpieza en la más alta consideración al crear mis artículos.

Welcome to But First, Crochet. I'm Jessica, the owner and maker of everything you will find in my little shop. My main loves are designing baby blankets and making preemie toys. I mailnly focus on crocheted octopus which are proven to improve the health of babies in the NICU.
In 2018 I gave birth to preemie triplets (2 girls and a boy). My littlest weighed in just under 3lbs. My babies spent roughly a month in the NICU and those are days that are ingrained in my memory forever. Some are memories of love others of fear, excitement, anger, anxiety, joy.... all the feels.
Since the triplets came home I've combined my passion for crochet with advocating and helping preemies and their families. I'm active with the March of Dimes and I am beyond passionate about crocheting octopuses for preemies.
The "spirals" of the tentacles provide comfort to preemies and newborns that call the NICU their home. The spiral shape reminds them of their umbilical cord and floating around in the womb. The tentacles provide comfort and help prevent babies in the NICU from pulling out their oxygen tubes, tugging on their wires and leads. It helps keep them comfortable and can even raise their oxygen levels!
I crochet everything myself following NICU guidelines and take safety and cleanliness in the highest regard when creating my items.
