I've loved this photo since I first saw it years ago and bookmarked it in my "futures folder" because we were in transition for several years and didn't have a place to frame and hang it. I finally got to a place where I could order it and it was worth the wait. It's an absolutely glorious photograph on high quality paper - the colors are even more vibrant and detailed than I expected. Can't wait to get it up on the wall!

Butterfly & The Storm

My name is Lori, pronouns she/her, on Instagram I go by Grief_Project_Merin. I am also a children's book author and a hopeful memoirist. I want to help normalize the grieving process. I opened this shop in 2017 to support a goal of obtaining an Ecotherapy certification and a family goal of creating a not for profit therapeutic hiking program for foster youth in my community; we began the program in the summer of 2019 and I also obtained my Ecotherapy certification in 2020. This shop has come a long way. These images are not captured on a fancy camera at an overlook I drove to where I set up a tripod and hit the click button. I hiked up a mountain in the dark or back down in the dark for many of them. I used my cell phone when I found just the right light and frame. I love these places and they are sacred to me and my healing; which is what I hoe they are for you. I love that I get to share what was just at first hiking for me. My photos are taken in Virginia, a good majority of them shot in Shenandoah National Park and George Washington National Forest while hiking solo or with my family. Some are from our family trips to other National Parks. By trade I’m a social worker. I own Blue Mountain Path Coaching Llc offering author visits. I spend a lot of my time with a community social justice organization as a board member and program lead for educational programming. My husband manages an Outfitter and thru hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2011. We have one child who is into LEGOS, fossils, gems and Pokémon. The healing nature photography you see in my shop has been on the cover and inside of AT Journeys- the magazine of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. It has also been in Blue Ridge Outdoors magazine and local travel brochures. These images hang in many homes across the country and decorates a local dentistry, Smallwood and McKown-Smallwood Family, Cosmetic, & Sleep Dentistry.
