My love of butterflies
I remember chasing Monarchs in my back yard as a small child. Butterflies landing on my head and arms in the warm summer sun. As butterflies seemed to die off over the years, my love for butterflies has not.
Over 25 years ago, I had the idea to make this jewelry but found it difficult to acquire butterflies. THEN I discovered many butterfly conservatories and farms I was so happy! The first one I found was in St. Marten. As the years went on, I met several butterfly conservationists here in the US.
Finally! I could make the jewelry I always dreamed of making. The butterflies have lived their lives in full and were not harmed in any way. People ask me if I paint the butterflies or add glitter and the answer is absolutely not. I just frame Gods original artwork. If you'd like to learn more about how butterflies were designed go to JW.ORG and search: Was it Designed.
As a child, when I’d see a dead butterfly on the ground being stepped on or just discarded it made me sad. Using ethically sourced butterflies to place in jewelry, as well as framing these magnificent creatures, brings me happiness because the beauty of Jehovah Gods creation can live on around someone's neck, ears or wrist instead of just going back to the dust.
