About

A little about me and Buzzy Booty

My name is Ashley P Cowen and I am the owner, operator, painter, sewer, and all other things Buzzy Booty! I have three beautiful children: an 13 year old daughter who is full of sass, pizzazz, a star on the Basketball Court, and is in her full-fledged pre-teen mode every moment of the day lol; a 5 year old son who is obsessed with anything with an engine and who's knowledge of the animal world never ceases to amaze me; and a 3 year old son who is constantly smiling, loves being toddler-worn, and quickly becoming a copy of his older adventurous brother :)

I spent 8 years in college at Virginia Tech; 5 years getting my Bachelors in Landscape Architecture and a minor in Environmental Science, and another 3 years getting my Masters in Landscape Architecture, Masters in Urban and Regional Planning, Online Teaching Certificate, and Metropolitan Studies Certificate. After graduating I decided that there was no place I would rather be than at home with my children so I became a proud Stay-At-Home-Mom!

Buzzy Booty is the product of my passion for green living, artistic expression, and being the best mother I can be for my children. All of my children have been cloth diapered and it is my mission with Buzzy Booty to help spread the word about the benefits and advantages of Cloth Diapering, while offering Buzzy Booty fans the best, cutest, most-artistic, personalized cloth diapers possible. After my youngest son potty-learned and our family moved away from cloth diapering, Buzzy Booty moved along with us. Buzzy Booty will now be offering products that interest us as we move into the future and hopefully products that will interest our Buzzy Booty families :) Thank you for taking this journey with us!

Additional policies and FAQs
WOODEN ITEMS: Wooden Items should not be immersed in water. They should not be chewed on by children or pets. While they have been sealed with non-toxic sealant, and the acrylic paint is non-toxic, it is best not to ingest and immersion will certainly damage the adhesion to the wood. If cleaning is necessary, please spot clean only using eco-friendly non-toxic cleaner. This shop is not responsible for any damages to wooden products or paint due to user negligence.

FABRIC ITEMS: Fabric Items have been pre-washed, painted with non-toxic fabric paint, heat sealed using an iron and high-heat drier, and then re-washed to ensure adherence. Please treat these items carefully when washing. Wash in eco-friendly detergents and do not treat with any additives such as bleach, RLR, vinegar, borax, fabric softener, etc... Fabric Paint will naturally fade over time and regular use, giving the items a more "vintage" look. This shop is not responsible for any damages to fabric products or paint due to user negligence.

KNIT ITEMS: Knit Items have been hand-knit or crotchet with a variety of yarns using crotchet hooks and/or knitting needles and/or knitting looms. Please treat these items carefully and only hand-spot-wash. Knit items are not supposed to be machine washed or dried. Doing so may unravel parts or all of your hand-knit item. It could also result in unwanted shrinkage. This shop is not responsible for any damages to hand-knit or crotchet items due to user negligence.

JEWELRY: Please do not bathe or swim in your jewelry, doing so can cause the metals to deteriorate or change colors. Please avoid using soaps and lotions in the area where your jewelry contacts your skin (as this will cause un-sightly films to build up on your stones and metals). None of Buzzy Booty's jewelry is intended for use on young children. Do not allow children to pull, chew, or play with jewelry. This shop is not responsible for any damages to jewelry or it's wearer due to user negligence.

DIAPERS: It is recommended that you NOT strip the diapers with RLR, Vinegar, or Dawn as this is also strip the paint, causing cracking, pealing, and fading. An occasional light and properly diluted bleach treatment can be used as necessary to sanitize your diapers. Please also do not use perfumed detergents, softeners, drier sheets, or other additives to your cloth diaper laundry. Not only does this affect the life of your diaper and cause leaking and stink issues, it will also decrease the lifespan of your paint. Borax is never recommended for any cloth diapers and will destroy Paint, PUL, and elastics. This shop is not responsible for any damages to diapers or paint if any of the above products are used or due to user negligence.

Custom orders are available and options for customization can be seen on our Facebook Page. Please contact me directly for customized orders. https://www.facebook.com/BuzzyBooty
