Not sure about getting a custom garment? Contact me! I'm happy to answer any questions and go over what you can expect. My mission is to increase confidence through well-fitting clothes. Everyone deserves to feel like a million dollars, and I can help.

My first item is The Next Gen Swing Dress for Women and Plus Sizes. A super comfortable (and thoroughly tested) design that shows your fun, nerdy side!

*You may have noticed my prices go up a bit. As I get more professional with my accounting, I now know just how much each garment truly costs me. My material cost is $25+, Etsy takes around $20 in fees per transaction, shipping is typically $8-12 per item. I also pay monthly for accounting software, studio rent, phone bill, insurance, equipment maintenance/replacement, and inventory. I could cut corners by using cheaper fabric. I could cut pieces off-grain to save fabric (ever had a twisted T-shirt?). I could cut back on ironing and topstitching to save time and raise my hourly wage that way. But, I know that you appreciate that I care about those things. There are lots of people selling low-quality things out there. Thank you for helping me make high-quality garments.

I have good ideas sometimes.

Lauren understands how hard it is to find good clothes when your body doesn't fit the industrial clothing mold. She remembers the frustration of trying on dozens of garments that never fit. That's why Lauren makes every garment to each clients' measurements and specifications. She wants you to experience the way clothes were meant to be made: to fit your body!
Lauren first learned to sew in Jr. High home ec class, a zipper bag (accidentally inside out). She surprised many when she sewed her own (fabulous) Prom dress. She surprised even more when she became a Le Cordon Bleu certified Pastry Chef before she turned 21. She's not averse to risk: moving to Alaska alone at 22, taking an organic farming internship at 25, taking over the family farm at 26. Lauren is full of surprises. When she learned how to draw to improve the visual quality of her wedding cakes, it was a revelation. The world looked different.
Struggling on the farm in her late 20's, Lauren turned her consumer instincts inside out and learned how to make just about everything she needed. By 31 she had replaced her entire underwear collection and her wardrobe was 75% handmade. Then, she turned to making things for others, but it wasn't enough. Lauren wanted to make things that helped people.
So, Lauren Christians makes useful things, joyful things. A great costume builds confidence, a well-fitting blazer can help win a promotion, a fun dress makes you feel like a million bucks. She makes things that people love and tries to help the world one client at a time.
