A man can do all things if he but wills them

My multi-discipline studio is based in the heart of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where I design, paint, stitch, and print a variety of works of arts and crafts.

I enjoy easel painting in my studio as well as en plein aire adventures. For many years I have been painting sceneries, objects, and people in the immediate world I encounter. The varying nuances and how these things relate to each other in space and time always intrigue my creative notions, drawing me in to further investigate. My works are reflective of the inspirational experiences by way of my love for mixing paint and pushing it around on surfaces.

My goal is to present to art lovers bodies of work that excite, through new formats or processes. Some works deal with ideas of temptation and the struggle for discipline; popular social ills as well other powerful influences that one must fight against in the following of a more consciousness path. While other works of art are more innocent appreciations for the common and yet possibly taken for granted.

Printmaking is a fairly recent love affair, for it’s bridging of the fine arts and mass produced crafts, in its ability to blend drawing, painting, and graphic design disciplines. I have been screen printing for many years but more recently have investigated etching and lithography. The screen printing coupled with my design work has brought me to focus largely on graphic apparel products. In developing an independent brand, Thieves and Beggars, I have also brought in my interests in sewing and pattern making.

Thieves and Beggars is limited streetwear line of clothing and accessories that bridges my design efforts and tattoo image development. Everything is designed in house and products are either hand printed or sewn in my studio. It is very important to me to maintain my use of eco-friendly water based inks, but also to move in a more sustainable direction by use of organics and recycled materials.
