About

Vintage lover and hand stitcher. And I'm not too bad with a glue gun.

My shop started (and stopped, a few times) a loooong time ago. My sister and I listed a few things starting in 2009. Then we got busy with work and kids so we stopped (and just loved being Etsy shoppers). We would post things here and there but we never really kept it going for too long--it definitely takes a lot of work!

I had my second son in 2012 and this time around I got to stay home with the little guy. My first son was just starting kindergarten, so staying home with a newborn while doing the school transport thing just made sense--and it was way better than sitting behind a desk!

I started really thinking about selling on Etsy more seriously when my youngest son turned 2; he was a bit (not much) less needy, and I needed something to add a little to my personal definition--being 'just a mom' is great, and hard, but Etsy would fill that adult sort of thing my life was lacking.

As I've started (again) selling vintage online, I've learned so much about the cool things I find. And Pinterest has opened a whole new world as far as hand embroidery is concerned--whenever I need a new project, that's the first place I look.

I am a stay at home mom, which is perhaps the best job ever. I love vintage and I've loved to stitch since I was a kid--combining the two made sense to me! Follow me on Instagram: six_chickens_vintage.

We ship within three days after payment has been received, and we'll shoot you an email letting you know your item is on the way!

We always use the United States Postal Service. Whatever method is most economical is the method used to ship (usually it's standard post, sometimes Priority or First Class Mail for smaller items). If you would like Priority or Expedited Shipping I am more than happy to do so, I will just have to add an extra shipping charge.
Refunds and Exchanges
We want you to be happy with our store and love your purchase as much as we do! Any problems please convo and we'll figure it out, to include issuing refunds.
