Do you like it HOT?

I work with clay to create both ceramics and jewelry. I know jewelry and ceramics seems completely unrelated, but in reality they both require a kiln. What can I say, I like things hot!

In college I was bored, ok maybe not bored, but just smothered by trying to understand our Universe while studying Space Science at Florida Institute of Technology. I had creative tension, which was buried under a plethora of physics and calculus books. I began creating ceramic pieces, mostly plates and bowls to eat off of, as my creative outlet at Get Fired Up! This little shop, along with my weekly community service with Alpha Phi Omega, is likely the only reason why I made it through college sanely.

Now I create FUNCTIONAL pieces of ceramics and jewelry with FUNDAMENTAL.

Why eat off of the same place setting that thousands of other people eat off? Why not have a guest platter signature plate that matches your wedding invitation? Why not spend a little extra on your bridal party to give them heirloom quality silver jewelry? Why not buy something just for you, something that is bold and beautiful with understatement. Creating art that others love gives me motivation to look inside a red hot kiln.

I love to create custom one of a kind pieces, so request something custom, at least you will know it will be unique and one of a kind.

By day I am an engineer, but by night I am an artist...

My ceramics are all hand painted and unique one of kind pieces. I generally find my inspiration through my southwest locale and my own modern edge. My pieces tend to stay simple with statements made through bold color, minimal designs and mix media.

The primary material I work with in my ceramics is earthenware; one of the oldest materials used in pottery. All of my clay pieces are created by slipcasting or press molded.

All of my pieces go through a 2 step firing process once the piece is formed with greenware. The pieces are fired to bisque (Cone 04), which creates a rigid working space for me to glaze the piece. In order to achieve the brilliant colors you see on my finished work I use 3 layers of under glazes. I then hand stamp my work with my logo into each piece prior applying 2 coats of clear glaze and then firing it again to cone 06. Each piece is created with lead free, non-toxic glazes and therefore unless otherwise noted the pieces are food and water safe.

Feel free to follow my work on my blog at:

Notes on PHOTOS -- Photographing high glaze ceramics is tricky. I try to achieve the "truest" color by not using a flash and taking photos in a photo box backlit by a natural light. Unfortunately, sometimes the only way to "document" the detail in one of my paintings is through using a flash, which ultimately "changes" the colors and usually adds a bright "hot-spot" or two on the piece, hence the discrepancy you will notice in some of the photos depicting the same piece of artwork.

Notes on Handling -- All of my products are made of high quality clay and glazes and therefore my pieces do not contain any harmful substances such as cadmium or lead. These items are individually handcrafted; they will occasionally slightly vary in color, shape, and design.
All of my products are dipped in a protective glaze makes the piece a breeze to clean

Although the pieces are handcrafted, they are quite durable and can be used on a daily basis. The ceramics I produce are generally chip resistant, dishwasher safe, microwave safe, oven safe (up to 400°F) and freezer safe.

I suggest allowing your ceramic piece to reach room temperature when transferring it from a refrigerator to an oven or microwave. Never allow the piece to drastically change temperatures in a short amount of time.

Returns and exchanges
If the artwork arrives cracked or broken, the buyer is responsible for photographing the piece and making a claim with the shipper. FedEx claims can be made online at

I will gladly "recreate", as close as possible, the piece of artwork that you had purchased. Unfortunately since each piece is unique and is extremely temperature dependent I cannot guarantee exact replicas, but I will do my best to make sure you are satisfied. I want you to be 100% happy with your purchase. If it is not exactly what you imagined I am happy to work with you to make it right!

Please note that you will be charged the full price for the replacement piece(s) + S&H. The insurance claims via FedEx will refund your money. Unfortunately, I cannot refund shipping charges, since I do not provide this service.

Exception: Custom orders are NOT returnable or refundable.
I prefer paypay, as it is the safest and most efficient method of payment for all parties invovled. I will accept personal checks and money orders.

Please note that your purchases will not be shipped until payment is received in full.

If for some reason you need to cancel your order, PLEASE contact me so that I may re-list it for someone else to enjoy.

International buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred.
Your order will ship within 2-3 business days of receiving payment.

I ship my products using Fed Ex ground for the following reasons: (1) all packages are insured, (2) tracking numbers, (3) price, and (4) delivery commitment.

I use recycled packaging in shipment of my products. It is the one simple thing I can do in favor of the planet. I always make sure that reused items are clean and in good condition. If recycled packaging offends you, please give me a heads up and I will do my best to accommodate you.

I pack my ceramic pieces VERY CAREFULLY but as an experienced "shipper" of my work I have realized that I have no control over how my package is handled after it leaves my hands.

I ship internationally via USPS as this is usually the quickest and least expensive rate for shipping. The buyer is responsible for your country's customs or tariff fees, if there are any.

I will combine shipping on items within my store. The easiest way to deal with this phenomenon is to check-out with all of your items and I will refund you the difference upon actual shipment of the item.

Lastly, your purchases will be shipped to the address you provided to Etsy. Should you need an item shipped to a different location, just let me know in some form or fashion.
