As an intercultural practitioner, I know that all those who wander are not lost. When I'm not travelling or supporting global nomads to cope with culture shock and adapt to unfamiliar surroundings, I reveal how the invisible hand of culture drives our behavior in ways you never imagined!
Yet, for every hour of training delivered, countless hours of demanding research and content creation are required. So I’ve found a way to share my sixth sense for cultural insights by visually. Like how people relate, reason, and regulate themselves across cultures.
My background is in cultural anthropology and I draw on over 20 years of international work-life experience (first in Greece, as an editor of Greece’s Weekly for Business & Finance; a freelance journalist in England; and TEFL instructor in Spain). Today, I’m a member of the International Coaching Federation, the Expat Coach Association, and SIETAR Europa. I also sit on the Board of Directors of Pastoralist Child Foundation and I’m a trusted expert for SheSource.
My clients employed at BNP Paribas, Christie’s Auction House, Deutsche Bank, Ernst & Young, L'Oréal, Mars, Nestlé, Maybelline, TOTAL, Sanofi, SIRVA, Unilever, Vanguard receive guidance to boost the job search, navigate start-up processes and branding, and career transition strategies.
Recently, I developed online courseware for global relocation platform, Globiana where I am Cross-Cultural Transition Lead. I’ve guest lectured about cross-cultural communication, global business practices and ethics at CETYS Universidad Baja Mexico, IBM School of Graduate School of Management Nice, France and CUNY Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business. I speak to groups and moderate panel discussions about global talent mobility including SHRM New York, Global Business HR, Duty of Care, SIETAR Europa Congress – Dublin 2017.
I’ve authored numerous guides and content contributing to the body of intercultural literature including publications such as Global Living Magazine, HuffPost, and New Jersey Monthly. Recently. I was quoted in The Greek National Herald, Forbes Woman, and PRI’s The World. And now, you can listen to my Globalista Gal Minute podcasts on iHeart Radio and Sound Cloud.
Right now as I write the only book for American expats to cope and adapt with culture shock, I will probably illustrate it with some of my Expat Whisperer Etsy Shop visuals – so follow me on @ExpatWhisperer to see what I’m doing next!
