Announcement   Welcome to my Etsy shop! Come on in and look around. I will be offering a wide array of unique and hand crafted mixed media mosaic art, items, tiles and supplies. My mosaics and supplies come together using various objects I acquired second hand through thrift shops, auctions, antique shops and even a dump or two! All my tiles are hand cut. Most of my tiles are cut from the rims of plates, unless I state otherwise. They are fairly uniform in thickness and never no footers. They will lay flat.

Please note....I leave a lot of the tiles I sell in larger pieces. I do this because I'm not sure how each buyer will be using them. I like the option of cutting down my tiles to fit my projects. A lot of times I'll just use a part of each tile. So if you want any of the tiles cut smaller, just let me know. I'd be glad to cut them to your liking, no extra charge.

I guarantee not to sell any tiles that have crazing, or are brittle. If it's something I wouldn't use...I won't sell it. I expect the best so should you!

Item shipped right away and the product is just as it is pictured. The packaging was perfect and the tiles were well protected. Looking forward to using them on my next art project!

My first transaction with Carla, and I will definitely be back. GREAT seller! Communicated about receipt of my money order, great packaging, fast shipping. The tiles are wonderful. Some are cut smaller and some larger; can't' wait to use them in a mosaic! And thank you so much for the "freebies"! And Carla knows I love plaid so the freebies she sent were also plaid. And finally, Carla wrapped the delicate gold leafed "freebies" so they would not scratch!! This is superb customer service. Thanks so much Carla. Can't wait to see what new plates you add to your shop after you get them cut up. Leslie from Cape Cod

My love of collecting and going to thrift shops and auctions, found a whole new meaning, about five years ago. It was then I saw some mosaics for sale, on the internet. I've always had an interest in all forms of art. This was different. This type of mosaic is called, pique assiette. Just what is pique assiette mosaic? The short answer is that pique assiette is a style of mosaic that incorporates pieces of broken ceramics - plates, dishes, cups, tiles - and other found objects into the design. The longer answer, to think about the appeal and expressiveness of pique assiette, must take in ideas of lateral thinking, humour, the art of recycling, and the significance of found objects.

I joined a couple mosaic groups on Ebay and Etsy. Everything I know I learned from the women in those groups. It wasn't till about a year ago I got my first mosaic book. Anyway..that was the beginning of making mosaics using the technique called, "pique assiete." (it is a French, word meaning “plate stealer.”) I prefer to work with old plates and vintage china pieces. This led to the challenge of taking something intended for one purpose and using it in a completely different way. I guess I'm really more of a mixed media artist. I've always felt that what I lack in skill...I make up with my creativity. Mosaics allow me incorporate that creativity into pieces of art, that can be enjoyed for many years to come.

Accepted payment methods

  • Money Order
Payment
Paypal and personal checks are accepted at this time. Please note; You don't need to set up a Paypal account to use it! Etsy has provided a handy reference guide on how to do this: http://www.etsy.com/help_guide_checkout.php

Also, if your are using an e-check on Paypal, or personal check, it can take up to 10 days to clear, and your purchase will not be shipped until I receive confirmation of payment.

Thank you, for understanding. If I don't receive payment or any communication from you within 3 days of the purchase, I will cancel the sale.
Shipping
Items will be shipped within 3 business days from the day the payment clears.
I will always ship to your Etsy address, please make sure it is correct.

I usually combine shipping, and if the cost is less than what
the total ends up showing, I will refund the difference.

Most mosaic artwork is shipped USPS Priority Mail. Flat rate boxes are used when possible. This method ends up being more cost effective due to the weight of some pieces.

All purchases over $50.00 require insurance and proof of delivery.
Refunds and Exchanges
If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, please do not hesitate either to contact me so we can try to work out the problem or you may return it within 10 days for replacement or refund. Items must be returned in the same condition in which they were sent.
Please note, Refunds do not include return shipping cost.
