I am an academic (Norse mythology, Scandinavian Studies), poet, illustrator, and watercolorist specializing in loose, impressionistic landscapes. Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolors, M Graham Watercolors, DaVinci Watercolors, Holbein Watercolors, Utrecht Watercolors (listed in order of degree of use)
Princeton brushes (Princeton Kolinsky; Princeton Elite--synthetic Kolinsky; Princeton Neptune--synthetic squirrel) as well as Winsor&Newton professional Kolinsky (not series 7--can't afford that!), DaVinci Casaneo, Escoda Versatil, and many others.

Currently original paintings up to size 12x16 inches are priced according to linear inch, with some variations for materials, and larger sizes (eg, 15x22, 22x30) according to square inch. Again, prices will tend to vary slightly but follow this general rule, and prices for larger paintings will rise more steeply. Extra large commissions usually have additional costs added, as the time and materials involved increase significantly.
