About

My name is Christine Barker and my soul exists to make art.

Christine Barker is a wild-hearted wanderer finding inspiration in every day moments and allowing nature to be her muse. From the time she was a little girl people have been telling her that she’s creative and she owes it to both her mom, Barbara, who was a fine artist, and her stepmom, Jennifer, for her creative soul. Christine lost her mom, Barbara, to leukemia when she was 3 so she never got to experience the full range of her creative potential. Luckily for her, Jennifer was creative in so many ways, from drawing, to creating Halloween costumes for the children to cooking and decorating their home.

With Jennifer's encouragement Christine started designing and selling Teddy Bear baskets when she was 14. From there Christine moved on to scrap booking but longed to spread her fine art creative wings and considered going to art school. With a divorce looming on the horizon she made the decision to go to Business School and earned a degree in Business Management.

While working in online marketing at Fortune 500 companies she kept the creative fires stoked by dabbling in mixed-media at night. If there's an art or crafting technique she’s probably tried it and maybe even took a class to learn it. She’s proud of her work that has been published in Jewelry Affaire Magazine and continues to refine her jewelry making artistry. Her latest creative breakthrough came while attending the Pura Vida painting retreat in Costa Rica hosted by Mati McDonough and Faith Evans-Sills in 2016. She realized that her passion lies in pursuing the creative siren’s song and chasing inspiration wherever it may lead her.

“We are mosaics - pieces of light, love, history, stars -- glued together with magic and music and words.”
