About CaminoProvides

Sales 863
On Etsy since 2016

The Camino Provides celebrates the pilgrim's journey, from the Calling to the Compostela, and beyond.

Patches are fun. Camino patches are a great way for you to customize your backpack with style.

This shop started because I wanted to design a patch for my own Caminos. They are different than any other Camino patch- there's no cross, sword or arrow. Just a simple stylized shell that reminds us to keep moving forward. There are two designs available: a rainbow with year, and original with no date. I intend to design a new patch for each year. Ultreia!

I caught Camino fever in 2015 and decided to document my journey and share things about the Camino on a blog at The phrase "The Camino Provides" is often heard as pilgrims hit a challenge of some sort on the Camino, then a solution magically appears.

We are all on a journey and everyone's Camino is their own. When the Camino called me, I answered. I've met some amazing people from all over the world; kindred spirits, who love adventure, hiking, camaraderie, and following their dreams.

I hope these patches bring you many miles of smiles. 😊

Buen Camino! ❤️

Frequently asked questions
How do I attach the patches to my backpack?

I recommend sewing them on to anything nylon to prevent item from melting. To sew, use a strong needle to get through the patch and backpack. Use black thread, if possible.
Or, hire an alterations person at a local dry cleaner to have the patches sewn on professionally. I have paid $3-5 per patch and it’s worth it to have the patches sewn on securely. The stitches are practically invisible and they have a variety of thread colors.
I had my patches sewn on denim jackets, hats, string bags, a fanny pack, and my Camino backpack. Support a local business or pay a grandma to sew the patches on.
If you live near Oakland, CA, I recommend May Cleaners located at 1924 Park Blvd.
Feel free to iron the patches on cotton fabrics!
See Ironing patch FAQ

How do I iron on the patches?

These patches have an iron-on backing, which can be used to attach them to cotton fabrics items, such as shirts, canvas bags, denim jeans or jackets.
Ironing steps:
1. Lay the base item on ironing board or a flat, heat-resistant surface.
2. Place the patch in the position you choose.
3. Heat up an iron.
4. Place a thin towel over the patch.
5. Position the heated iron over the towel and patch and press down.
6. Remove the iron and allow the patch to cool.

Can I order patches with previous years on them?

Unfortunately, no. I have produced a limited number of patches with years printed since 2016, and when they sell out, they’re gone forever. Order them while you’re thinking about it, and before they sell out!
The original design has no date, and is a classic in its simplicity.

Why no arrow or cross?

I wanted to design a patch that looks different than any other Camino patch. There's no cross, sword or arrow. Just a simple stylized shell that reminds us to keep moving forward. Ultreia!

There are currently two designs available: a rainbow shell with current year (until they sell out), and original with no date. The saying, “The Camino Provides” is embroidered to remind us to let go.

I intend to design a new patch for each year.

What does “The Camino Provides” mean?

I have found, and many pilgrims agree, the Camino provides anything that you could possibly need while on your pilgrimage. Whether you need solitude or friendship, water or wine, band-aids or backpacks, you can find it all on the Camino. First time pilgrims think they need to pack emergency items, but experienced pilgrims tell them “relax, the Camino will provide.” The phrase is about letting go, and going with the flow.

The Camino also provides life-changing transformations for many. Just take a look at what pilgrims have to say about what the Camino provided for them in the Pilgrim Stories section at If you’d like to contribute your story, email me. If I publish it, I’ll send you a free patch. Share the ❤️ !

What does the rainbow design represent?

Universal love, peace, pride, and playfulness.
The rainbow serves as a symbol of serenity, a feeling often evoked when looking at a rainbow. More significantly, rainbows are often seen after a rainstorm when the sun breaks through the clouds. A very powerful and important message, which ties in with the phrase, the Camino Provides.

The rainbow-banded Camino shell design was inspired by the concept of chakras, which was an important part of my journey with yoga and healing. “Chakras” refer to wheels of energy throughout the body.
Combined with the Camino shell design, the rainbow radiates healing, peace, and love, from root to crown.

Why do you have an Etsy shop?

I love the Camino and the creativity it sparks.

My mission is to celebrate the Camino de Santiago and the pilgrim’s journey, from the calling to Compostela and beyond. I do this by sharing informative tips on training, gear, and routes; by promoting Camino related events in the Bay Area; by interviewing pilgrims and sharing inspiring stories; and by curating content relevant to the Camino. Purchases on this Etsy shop help to defray the costs of hosting and managing the blog so that I can keep sharing the Camino love!

Net proceeds are donated to different charitable organizations.

Can I buy items in person?

Yes, if you attend a Bay Area Camino event or hike that I’ll be at, let me know in advance. I can bring you any of the patches or accessories available and you can save on shipping.
Check my website Events section to see upcoming Camino gatherings and hikes.

I usually have a few patches in my pocket, so just ask me if you see me on the Camino or anywhere else I may roam!

Will you offer T-Shirts again?

At some point, yes. Being a chapter coordinator has kept me very busy, so I had to put some things on hold.
I designed the T-Shirts for the Northern California Chapter of American Pilgrims on the Camino that is available at
Free shipping with orders of $35 or more.
