Hello, "thank you" for viewing my profile. My name is Gilbert Candelaria, and I'm a Recycled artist. For the past 18 years I've worked full time in the health industry and created my art on the side. Now in the past two years I've left the health care business and I fully dedicate my life to my passion - My Art.
As a recycled artist, I work mostly work with steel junk objects. But I have incorporated lots of glass and some wood in my creations. Now for all these years I've been a part of art festivals and galleries promoting and selling my art. But a large portion of my work has been custom orders. Many clients have told me they were inspired by creations and whimsical take on art, they felt comfortable asking me for their unique custom order. Some of my custom orders have been: converting small appliances into whimsical night lights, mail box sculptures, garden sculptures, colorful home décor, practical items and various murals.
The most recent/unique custom order was taking two pieces of drift wood(which the owner loved and had for a few years) and converting them into two sculptures -- a land shark and an eel. With every piece of art I create I incorporate 100+% passion, skill and love. I do the same with all my custom orders. Many of my clients felt the same way about their ideas and love to see it come to life with my help. So, even if it's a very simple order my feeling is why not give it your all..... this what I do now and I love it.
Skills: For the most part I am self-taught, I did take a class on how to use a welding machine and work with hot steel in a blacksmith setting. Plus throwing in a little metal working techniques helped me expand my abilities to be versatile with my skills. Now I love color, so I use water color acrylics, airbrush, spray paints and for boldness I use automotive spray paints. I love to show the beauty of junk objects with a touch of color.
In short, I believe in taking a very passionate stance in creating my art and my custom orders. I believe in creating clean, colorful and elegant art. I love creating things that I am proud of and bringing to life someone else's idea. For view of my various and custom creations visit my website.
