With the larger canvas I laid out the design and played with it until I was satisfied. Then I drew my stems, glued down each pebble and piece of natural sea glass and signed my name.

Next I removed the plastic and placed matting on the canvas to get a idea of the space I would be working in. I began laying out the sea glass and pebbles to the canvas and decided I needed larger canvas for the design.

Frequently asked questions

Does all your sea glass and pebbles come from the Cape Beach?

All of the sea glass, pebbles, sea shells and driftwood in the Cape Collection, all come from the main beach in Cape Saint Claire or the beach area at Lake Claire.

What do you use to glue the glass and stones?

I experimented with a few different types of glue, but found super glue to work the best.

Where do you get your frames?

I purchase my frames.

How did you come up with this idea with sea glass and pebbles?

I've always been drawn to water, especially the beach. So when we moved to Cape Saint Claire, a beautiful little beach town, I went to the main beach almost everyday. I spent hours just walking up and down the beach picking up sea glass and beautiful pebbles. I filled up a huge mansion jar with sea glass, and thought now what can I do with all these treasures. I dumped out the jar on the kitchen table, and began playing around with the pieces of glass, remembering how excited I got when I found a new color of sea glass or a unique shape for the first time. As I sat at the table I started putting the pieces together like a puzzle and before I knew it I had made, a boy and girl holding hands with a heart above them, out of my glass treasures.
