About

I am totally addicted to pottery.

I'm just addicted to pottery. There, I said it, I'm addicted and obsessed. I never think about anything else. It has taken over my life--and my house. I used to love buying it now I just can't stop making it.

It all started with going to evening classes to learn to make tiles for my new bathroom....but I didn't think I was going to like it!
I thought I would just make the tiles and then drift off to another craft....as I have been doing all my life.

I am constantly experimenting with new shapes and new glazes. My studio space has become seriously overcrowded! I've just never got over that excitement when I open the newly fired kiln-it's like Christmas morning with lots of lovely presents. I enjoy making pieces that are both fun and functional, touchable, colourful and whimsical as well as lovely to have on display.
I am really looking forward to having a proper studio. After years of working in my cold and draughty car port, I have finally got planning permission to build a room on the side of my house...with doors at each end!
I'll be posting photos of the work in progress when it gets going.

Questions about your order?
Please if you have any problems with your order.
I am obviously happy to refund the total payment for items broken in the post unless I have another item the same (unlikely) which I can send out to replace it.
If you simply do not like the item you receive then, please let me know within 14 days of receiving the item if you wish to return it. If you return it at your own expense, I will refund the cost of the item.
Payment
I know that some purchasers do not like using Paypal so I do also accept Direct Bank transfers.
I do accept cheques, but of course, this does mean a bit of a delay in shipping your item as I will have to wait for the cheque to clear. Just send me a message via Etsy and I will send you my address.
Shipping
I offer a shipping discount for one or more items, which you will find at the checkout stage.

I generally send items with the Royal Mail 2nd class service which is very efficient and often seems deliver the next day. If you are in a hurry please contact me...I am of course willing to send Royal Mail First Class but I'm afraid there will be some small extra costs involved

I'm sorry if it seems expensive but my items can be heavy and therefore expensive to post.
I do not charge for the packaging or for the time incurred packing and taking to the post office.--just the cost of the stamp!
I can send up to 5kgs ( av 5 items ) in one parcel for a reasonable rate, so if you buy more than one item I can combine them and save you some money. Please let me know at the time of ordering if you want to do this.

As for International shipping....
I am sorry...it really is just very expensive......the mail often get more than I do!
Believe me I don't make money on it....in fact I make a loss.... I do not charge for the packaging or for the time incurred packing and taking to the post office.--just the cost of the stamp!
If you are not in a hurry ---there is a 42 day service (!) to far destinations, which is quite reasonably priced---usually about 2/3 the price quoted.....for the USA it is around the price quoted for Europe. Email me and I'll happily find out a price and change the listing for you.
I'm really sorry all the shipping is so extortionately expensive..... I hope it hasn't put you off buying from me.

I take the utmost care to wrap and secure pieces for their long journey to make sure they arrive safely.

Please note: Any customs charges or local taxes are the responsibility of the customer.
Additional policies and FAQs
I do take custom orders, but I will have to insist on payment upront , as I have sometimes been left with unsellable items when the commissioner has changed their minds, or even commissioned two potters so that they have a choice!!
