I paint. Anything.
Murals is what I like painting best, but everything else is a good second! I paint decorative walls indoors and outside, as well as community murals all over the world with my project MuralArte Guate. I love combining the rough outdoor work with hours spent in my studio, working on commissions or painting objects. I was born and raised in Amsterdam, Holland, but spent the last twenty odd years in Honduras and Guatemala. Now I'm based in the North of Spain, but I call all four countries my home and travel as much as I can.

Carin Steen is an artist originally from Amsterdam, Holland, who lived in Honduras and Guatemala for many years. While still painting murals in those countries (and elsewhere), Carin currently lives and works in the north of Spain.

Gouache Paintings
My gouache paintings are protected with a matte spray varnish, but are none the less easily damaged by water. Framing them behind glass is the best way to protect them.
Gouache paintings on watercolour paper are shipped in a sturdy envelope or PVC tube, depending on size.
Acrylics
Acrylic paintings on canvas or poster board are shipped in a PVC tube. For shipment about paintings stretched over a wooden frame or recommendations for framing, please contact me.
