Enjoying time outdoors and the seasonal colors of New England, my art is often inspired by walks in the conservation land behind my home in Massachusetts.

I believe we are all born creative and inspiration comes in many forms. Cooking in the kitchen, strokes of a paintbrush, tooling away at carpentry, creating the space in your home, playing music - in whatever way it is you enjoy life - your creativity comes through. There are lots of ways to feed your inner child and call it play. I love that!

Of all the art mediums I've explored - watercolor, colored pencils and beeswax crayons top the list for me,

Years ago, while my children and I were enjoying their block crayons, I discovered I could lay down broad strokes of expressive color with the crayons. I quickly realized the detailed colored pencil artwork I had been enjoying had found a complementary companion. Together the crayon with colored pencils allows me to achieve shading and detail in these two wax based mediums. I challenged myself to make an illustrated greeting card (see Winter Warmth • Beeswax Crayon) using only crayons and the result got me hooked even more on beeswax crayons.

The raw crayon color and the layering, transparency and texture that beeswax crayons afford is amazing.  All the layering moved me to the natural progression of exploring the world of painting abstract art with crayons. (see Protected • Beeswax Crayon) I  continue to explore and push the limits of illustrating and fine art "painting" with beeswax crayons.

My newest exploration turned inspiration while dabbling in the vast world of digital art using the iPad and Apple pencil. (see Season's Swirl • Digital Art) It is a no mess, no clean up, way for me to express myself and a great way to explore layers of color.

Whatever the tools, visual art is a storytelling medium that transcends time and reveals a wonderful world within a world.
