Many years ago I was a Ceramic Artist exhibiting at shows, galleries, and exhibitions. Then one day, due to my health, I had to walk away. I studies about herbs and essentials and that led to opening a soap business that lasted over 20 years. But alas, my body is no longer happy with that. So, what do you do when life hands you lemons? You create ART!
I have been stitching, needlepoint and embroidery, since I was 10. I took solace in stitching for hours. Then. like a light bulb going off in my head, I realized I could add a sculptural aspect to my stitched pieces. Creating what is known as Stumpwork. This sent my mind ablaze with possibilities! Carol Gingrich Designs was born.
Although each piece maybe similar in design, due to the free motion machine stitching and hand stitching, each piece is a one-of-a-kind. My inspiration comes from Mother Nature herself. I find the beauty in the variations of the colors of a delicate petal. The delicate leg of a butterfly just landing on a flower, it's wings spread. Simple beauty.
Each piece is gallery wrapped. The stitching continues around the edges to create even more of the 3 dimensional aspect. All work is ready to hang. Please be advised, if a piece is not in stock, creating the art may take up to 4 weeks. You will be advised of this and pictures will be sent of the progress.
