Announcement   In my shop, you will find custom made reclaimed wood artwork. All of my work is built and designed by myself, the artist. If you desire a custom piece, just send me an email and I will get you a quote and time frame for completion. There is usually a 4 to 6 week lead time to build a custom order. If you need it sooner I will do my best to accommodate your time frame.

What makes my artwork so unique is that I am always on the hunt for unique types of wood that will create an impressive piece. I especially enjoy working with wood that is bursting with character. There are no faux finishes in the world that can duplicate the colors and textures that Mother Nature creates, 95% to 100% of the colors you see on my art pieces have not been stained, what you see is the natural color of the wood. When wood is aged for 80 to 100 years, it turns naturally dark in color.
The darker brown natural woods were those aged within a barn, while grey boards have been weathered outside.
When you are buying one of my pieces, you are also buying a piece of Pioneer history, when power tools were almost non-existent.

You can also contact me by phone or email if you have any questions.

About

Quality Meets Environment!

Hi My name is Craig Forget and I am a reclaimed wood artist

I feel that I am part of the large art movement that has been growing in the Detroit and Windsor area, it is great to be part of this movement. It is also great to be able to express myself through art. I am in it for the long haul, I believe in producing the most unique art pieces with the most unique wood that I can find. I always feel that it is the old, reclaimed wood that makes my pieces unique.

I have been influenced by woodworking from a very young age and recently I have found my true passion for building unique artwork and furniture out of reclaimed barn wood. What I love about the materials that I work with is that you never know what types of wood you are going to find in the local barns that range from 80 to 200 years of age. You could say I am like a kid in a candy store.

I have been working as a full time finish carpenter for the past 20 years. In addition to my reclaimed woodwork, I also create fireplace mantels and other custom pieces for customers. I am a true master carpenter who was taught by season veterans of the craft.

Every piece is built as if I were building it for myself.

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

If you do not see a size you like, you can request a custom size and I will provide a quote including the cost of shipping. Please provide me with your zip code or postal code for quotes.

I can build very large pieces, some of which can be made in multiple sections and bolted together or can be shipped via freight as a single piece.

If you would like a custom color scheme (ie. removing or adding a color from my natural palette of browns, greys, white, and reds) please let me know so I can make sure that it is available.
You can contact me through Etsy or email me at craigforget@hotmail.com

Packaging

Every piece of artwork is custom packaged with specialized wood and foam corners including many layers of cardboard to protect all edges. I build custom boxes to wrap every individual pieces. All the packages are fully insured by me, Craig Forget, not the shipping company from being lost or damaged during transit.

Rush orders

If you need one of my made to order art pieces sooner than 4 to 6 weeks, please message me and let me know when you need it by and where you are located so I can give you the quickest time that it can arrive to your door. Another option is to speed up the delivery time by expediting the package. This is usually my last option because of the very high shipping cost associated with the size of the package. I use standard ground shipping which usually takes 4 to7 business days depending on where you are located. If you would like overnight shipping, I can get you a quote for this option.
