CarrieBilbo's Shop Announcement

Carrie Bilbo Jewelry Feeding Hope Fundraiser

30 million Americans will struggle with a clinically significant eating disorder at some point during their life. Of all the mental illnesses, eating disorders hold the highest mortality rate. In spite of the unprecedented growth of eating disorders in the past two decades, eating disorders research continues to be under-funded, insurance coverage for treatment is inadequate, and societal pressures to be thin remain rampant

On May 7, 2004 my sister Kate Bilbo tragically passed away at the age of 21, after a long time battle with an eating disorder. In her memory Carrie Bilbo Jewelry will be holding a fundraiser from April 1st (Kate’s birthday) to May 7th, giving all customers 15% off their order, to benefit the National Eating Disorders Association. 20% of all sales made during this period will support NEDA in prevention, cures and care– including education programs for early intervention, programs and services to support family members, and advocacy programs that improve access to care.

Silver and gold branches, gleaming cicadas and bejeweled spiders offer nature's beauty while dramatically attaching themselves to the body. Each piece is an organic and expressive well-crafted work of art, made to order just for you by the designer herself.
Nylon Magazine described Carrie's work as "ridiculously edgy and chilling, but also impeccably crafted and wearable." Carrie has joined her love of creating, painting, the human body and mind, and expression to create her unique and enticing art jewelry style.
