About the Artist:
Carrie Elizabeth Clayton is an artist based in Franklin, MA. In 2014, she got a BA in Sociology and Anthropology at Principia College where she also minored in Art. Originally accepted into MICA in Baltimore and MassArt in Boston, she decided that a liberal arts college was a better fit. Sure enough, Sociology became her main focus.
Carrie has been drawing and painting since she was a child. She has pursued that love in high school AP art classes and excelling in college level art classes. She is particularly good at photo realism and finely detailed portraits of animals and nature. Inside she harbors intense passion and enthusiasm for social justice and loud expression of rebellion. Growing up as a quiet girl with a quiet personality, she is working to increasingly bring a blazing streak of edge and unconventional beauty to her work.

About the Shop:
The creation of my Etsy shop was brought on by the need to publicly display my artwork. It began in February of 2015 and has been a fun experiment and growing success ever since. I began with an idea that I had for years which was painting ballet flats. I knew I would want to create artwork that could be worn and be easily seen; so what better way than to incorporate fashion! I expanded on that idea with painting purses I'd find at second hand stores. I am now seeking to expand a product line even further with more options like phone cases, prints, clothing, and pillows. All of this growth in addition to my traditional paintings will make my shop increasingly versatile.

The point of my Etsy journey is to bring people joy through the mutual love of artwork that buyer and seller share. l want to connect with people as much as I can and give my work and ideas to others. After all, connecting is what makes art worth it.

Welcome to CarrieElizabethArt on Etsy!

My store offers a wide range of items from fine art to hand painted gifts and home decor. My shop began with selling my original artwork as well as hand painted shoes. Painting shoes eventually lead me to paint handbags, and other little decor items! Now I have been allowed to print my art designs on other products such as pillow cases. Looking forward to adding my hand painted earrings to my shop in 2018!

I take commissions on things like pet portraits and am happy to make custom shoe designs as well! Contact me with any questions so I can do my best to help you in any way I can!
