Announcement   Personally engraved garden stones... We use natural stone -Bandera Shale- personally transported from a quarry in eastern Kansas. Each stone is unique, taking thousands of years to become the product we engrave today. Some stones contain iron deposits which can produce a speckling of amber or rust color. Other stones may have a marbling of darker sediment throughout, perhaps sandstone or limestone common to this region. While we don't have control over what the quarry harvests from the mountain, we do take great care in choosing just the right stone for each engraving.
All stones are engraved by hand using a high-speed dremel tool with diamond bit. In a process that we have perfected over the past decade, we fill the engraved areas with masonry dye to enhance the carvings without disturbing the natural color of the stone. Over several years' time, the masonry dye will wear away allowing the natural color of the aged stone to shine through. This stone endures all climates - rain, shine, sleet, snow.
