Each listing in this shop is ONE OF A KIND. I make collections with common themes, but seldom make more than one piece more than once.

I've been living in Orick, California (home of the world's tallest trees) for 4 years now. We have 2 beaches here in town and several within a few miles of us. Orick is in The Redwood Forest National and State Park, though the twon is not state park itself. We are at the end of a line of lagoons (Humboldt Lagoons State Park). So, I live in the most beautiful place in the world and we've spoken with several tourists from all over the world who said so.

I'm retired, but I work for me now.Making jewelry and working with gemstones gives me a chance to meld my desire to be artistic, to design with color, to be around jewelry and learn more about rocks. You see, I always wanted to be a geologist. I love what the world does to make rock and make it pretty.

But jewelry is expensive. I try to create an expensive look at a reasonable price. I want other women who love jewelry to be able to buy it when their budgets are as limited as mine.

Anyway, I dream someday people will say, "Is that a CarynSue you're wearing?" If that day happens, I should have enough customers to actually make a living at this.

About

LADY FINALY FINGURES OUT WHAT SHE WANTS TO DO

It is a long story, but to make it short, we were looking to make our lives into something we shaped, with activities we wanted to pursuit. It was a huge chance, but we invested everything we had into it. So far, it hasn't been a huge financial success, but we've learned a lot, had some great adventures and met some incredible people.

We work in a room with big windows looking North and South at hillsides covered with redwood trees hundreds of feet tall. Wild flowers bloom in riots everywhere. Blackberry bushes make the fence for our yard. They spend months covered in white flowers that nourish hummingbirds. Come autumn and winter beautiful wrens and sparrows make their homes in there (it is frightening how recklessly they fly in and out of those thorny vines).

The Redwood Creek flows to the Pacific on the other side of those blackberry bushes.

Beautiful Roosevelt Elk roam the fields and beaches nearby.

All these things provide inspiration. We hope we can share some of the miracles we've found along this "Lost Coast" with others.

I invite you to read our feedback.

Thank you for stopping by.

  • CarynSue

    Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator

Born in Chicago, raised in Tucson, lived in Utah, always wished to live where it was never hot or cold and always beautiful, ended up in The Redwood Forest. Ahhhh! Love rocks and minerals, taught myself how to make jewelry.

  • Chad

Maker, Wire Wrapper, Furniture Maker, Worlds Best Husband

He can fix just about anything, so when I asked him to help me finish my earrings and make rings, he found he wanted to do the wire wrapping and now he makes and designs jewelry too.

Payment
My shop accepts PayPal and Credit Cards.
IF YOU WANT TO USE A MONEY ORDER or CHECK,
I suggest purchasing a Visa or MasterCard debit card (also a good practice for identity protection). I live in a very small town with no banks, so I have no way to handle checks or money orders.
Shipping
The Orick branch of the United States Post Office (USPS) is here because we have 3 ranger stations nearby (state and federal). It is open Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 9:30 to 1:30. I ship orders received by noon, Mon - Fri the day of the order. All other orders are shipped the next business day. Shop policy is 1 - 3 Days.
Refunds and Exchanges
I will not refund an order once it is shipped. I guarantee my work for 12 months. If your items breaks (even babies can tug on this stuff), return it and I will fix it and return it to you. My jewelry lasts.
WARNING: Keep all jewelry made with leaded crystals (such as SWAROVSKI) away from babies.
Additional policies and FAQs
Every piece is ONE OF A KIND.
I guarantee my work for 12 months. If your clasp breaks or the crimp fails, send the piece back. I will fix it and return it to you.
HOLD REQUESTS: I will hold a piece at your request for 7 days.
CUSTOM ORDERS: I no longer take custom order requests, because my inventory only consists of completed jewelry at this time.
