We bring warmth and humanity to our customers while empowering Guatemalan artisans

At Casa de los Gigantes, we are more than a store. Our mission is to craft beautiful, ethically-made pieces that bring warmth and humanity to an increasingly technological and disconnected world and to create opportunities for self-empowerment through fair wages in towns and villages across Guatemala. Our vision is a world in which the talent of artisans is celebrated, traditions that have been handed down over generations are preserved, and artisans are paid fair wages for their extraordinary masterpieces.

Over the past 30 years, we have forged meaningful connections with artisans all over Guatemala, which has a direct impact on their lives and the lives of the members of their communities. We are proud to have contributed to breaking the cycle of poverty in this beautiful country. Siggy has always believed that we all "vote with our dollars" - we can support unethical labor practices, processes that are harmful to the environment, and cheap, meaningless items - or we can help make the world a better place while beautifying our homes.

Handwoven & handcrafted with ♡
Every item we sell is made entirely by hand, making each piece unique and intrinsically valuable. We work with individuals and groups who are masters of wood carving, textiles, weaving, pottery, beading, pine needle weaving, natural dyes, and many other areas of crafts and folk art. We have made significant investments in our own carpentry shop, and were the first organization in Guatemala to work with plantation-grown teak.

Our products are a reflection of the varied artistic skills of the people of Guatemala, each an expression of fierce beauty and artistry. While making our products, we only use sustainable, eco-friendly materials.

Behind each item is a powerful history of traditional techniques, patterns, and culture, which we are proud to share with our customers.
