Cassi Denise Rodriguez is a contemporary painter from Pennsylvania. Her practice as a visual artist is an ongoing investigation of the sensation derived from the juxtaposition of colors and shapes.
Combinations of intense then subtle colors are carefully chosen and edited to elicit a world where formality meets emotion. Informed by the subconscious and executed by intuition, her paintings reflect the subtle observations of color and shape that occur throughout the day and night. She seeks to examine the delicate balance between: chaos and order, comfort and discomfort, positive and negative space.
She is fascinated with the visceral quality of the materials she uses, and allows the liquidity to determine her decisions as the works reach maturity. On each surface, she creates a field where the viewer can engage in a few moments outside their own reality and aims to evoke a world that transcends the present.
Her dedication to abstract painting has developed into an important ritual for over ten years. She believes that art functions as valuable enrichment in the spaces we live and work. All of her works are created in her home studio in Reading, Pennsylvania.
