Fusing Japanese Design with Western Headwear

We call it America-Mura or to translate it: American town (us locals call it Amemura). It's the fashion district in Osaka, Japan, where western products first got imported into Japan on a commercial scale about 60 years ago. It became a fashion and cultural epi-center in Japan with all the trendy people packing it out every evening.

There were western products and Japanese products, but nothing inbetween. The differences were extreme and it took about 30 years before the designs began to mix.

I started working in a hat shop in Amemura about 20 years ago. My design of hats was part of the new cultural mix between east and western design. But only selling in Amemura meant that the blend of designs was only going to get so far, probably not even out of Osaka. So but about 13 years ago I realized the only way to really spread the design was to go online.

I've been selling online in Japan for about 12 years and now want to see what non-Japanese think of the designs and products...So, here I am Etsy!

I think most headbands are either highly decorative or limited to just sports use, I'm aiming for something more casual and trendy, but is also practical and can be used for outdoor activities.

We are now a team of 4 that I design everything with. We get help from small separate companies who make some of our products with sewing machines. It's all hand made and made from our designs that we've been working on since I started the "charm" brand.

As a brand we focus on making items that are easy to wear, create a fashionable appearance and are also effortless to put away in your bag.

I'm pleased to introduce our range of headbands and head wear that we`ve designed and are constantly adapting with the changing times.

I've been watching the change in fashion in Japan since working in a hat shop about 20 years ago. I then started designing and selling my own items. About 8 years ago I decided I wanted to reach a wider audience.

Our designs are a reflection of the way fashion in Japan has evolved since western culture came to Osaka in the 60's.

Accepted payment methods

Returns and exchanges
I gladly accept returns
Contact me within: 14 days of delivery
Ship items back within: 30 days of delivery
I don't accept exchanges or cancellations
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
Faulty and damaged items:
If a product arrives at the customer defective we will reimburse the item price, and return shipping fees. In case the customer would prefer a replacement item this will be shipped free of charge.

Non-faulty and non-damaged items:
Undamaged items may be returned within 14 days, however, the products need to be returned in the same condition and in the original packaging they were received.
We will only refund the item price. The shipping and return shipping fees are to be paid by the buyer. Please contact us about your return and we will provide a return shipping label, or specific shipping instructions so your items can be received properly, and enjoyed by others in the future.

Scheduling redelivery:
For all orders outside of Japan, we are unable to provide scheduling redelivery as a service. Please understand that due to location restrictions of government websites such as USPS, time zones and other factors that this is not possible. We are not responsibility if the postal service is unable to deliver during the time you are available, so we ask kindly that all redeliveries are the responsibility of the buyer.

Clearance items:
We do not accept returns of items that have been sold as CLEARANCE unless they are defective. We appreciate your understanding.

Once a returned item has been received at our office we will issue a refund or send a replacement within 3 working days.
Payment
We only accept payment by Paypal

All additional taxes and charges are payable by the customer.

If a second shipment is required, not due to our fault (for example no acceptance of attempted delivery or you did not go to the post office to collect the item before it got sent back), then this will be payable by the customer.

If a second shipment is required due to our fault then we will pay for shipment or provide a refund.

Your item will only be reserved for you once payment is received by us. Please pay as soon as possible to ensure you get the item you ordered.

We can cancel an item free of charge up until it is dispatched. If it has already been dispatched then we will give you a refund once the item is delivered back at our office - however the value of outbound shipment will be deducted (i.e you will need to pay for shipment), You will also need to pay for the return shipment. This means paying for shipment both ways.
Shipping

Due to the unfortunate COVID19 pandemic, shipping remains delayed worldwide.

Postal Mail often is carried by passenger flights, which have reduced in frequency and volume.

If your package's tracking appears to be severely delayed, please contact us.

For your convenience, USA customers may have their orders fulfilled by a local warehousing service.

When shipping from Osaka, we ship by Japan Post E-packet. Shipping usually arrives within 2 weeks, however, with some countries it may take longer.

Express shipping is available from Japan. Rates start at 2000 Japanese Yen. Shipping by EMS usually takes a maximum of 5 business days.

The buyer is responsible for providing a complete address, which we will provide to a shipping service. We have no control over the speed or quality of delivery after it has been sent. It is our hope that couriers worldwide will deliver your mail with care and diligence.

If there are any issues with delivery for reasons out of our control (address provided to us is not accurate, issues within the shipping company, errors by the carrier etc.) we are not responsible for shipping delays.

Re-scheduling delivery:
For all orders outside of Japan, we are unable to provide re-scheduling delivery as a service. Please understand that due to location restrictions of government websites such as USPS, time zones and other factors that this is not possible at this time. It is not our responsibility if the postal service is unable to deliver during the time you are available, so we ask kindly that our customers be available to receive their package or schedule redelivery.

We are not responsible for delays in shipping due extreme circumstances beyond our control, such as extreme weather, natural disasters, or unrest.
Additional policies and FAQs
Unfortunately, we are unable to customize or print personal designs onto our beanies or headbands. Thank you for your understanding.

We can write gift messages for you, but PLEASE keep them short (60 characters or so) as our Japanese staff who pack our orders find it hard to write in English.
