Cat In Lap Studio
I'm Melissa Cummins - owner, designer, and stitcher behind Cat In Lap Studio. I've cross stitched for more years than I can remember. I love the process. I love the neat, even, counted stitches and endless possibilities. Most of all, I LOVE the feeling of accomplishment after stitching a design I created for someone special.
My shop, Cat In Lap Studio, serves as an outlet from my rigidly organized and sometimes stressful career as a Crime Intelligence Analyst. In direct contrast to my downtown office, my suburban studio consists of a desk piled high with supplies, half started projects, and sketches for future designs. No office chair needed here - I do most of my stitching on the couch with my cat, London or "Londy" as I affectionately call her, curled up in my lap.
The cross stitched pieces found in my collection are inspired by everyday things - things that make me smile, smirk, or giggle. Sometimes they're snarky little sayings and other times they're sweet enough for momma. Either way, they are always created with love and shipped with care.
