Gorgeous traegus jewel for me! It's been on the hunt for something like this for a while. This seller was fast to reply and really helpful. Especially when my post office wasn't! Love it thanks so much can't wait to order again X
Artisan nose rings, tragus studs, belly rings & other body jewelry
I love piercings and body mods! I started out designing jewelry for my own face, ear and body piercings before I began selling my work for others to wear. I wear my own designs, testing them for durability and comfort.
Currently, I work with sterling silver, niobium, titanium, & 316L stainless steel - as well as karat gold and platinum by custom request.
All of the nose rings and hoops in my shop start out as plain coils of wire stock - including my 316L steel hoops! I don't buy any premade nose hoops or cartilage earrings. I hand form, saw cut, polish and file each ring. Once formed, I add embellishments using soldering, welding or wire wrapping. The fine silver charms that I use in my work are created from my original sculptures, and I solder and set all of my gemstones into fine silver bezels for the push fit jewelry I sell.
Because I'm involved in every part of the creation process, almost any piece in my store can be customized to be unique to your vision. I also handle all of the product photography, as well as the packing, shipping and customer service - so when you ask a question, you're talking directly to the artist.
Random Fact: I share my office with a Fahaka puffer who lives alone in a 200 gallon tank, some leopard geckos, and a handful of tarantulas.
Wondering where the name Caterpillar Arts came from? I started out making hand painted polymer clay insect sculptures, and caterpillars make me happy :)
Owner, Maker, Designer
Hi there! My name is Amber. I'm usually playing with metal, polymer clay, paint and resin (i.e. making a mess out of my desk) late into the night. Caterpillar Arts comes to life out of my small studio in the lovely Arizona desert.
See something you like, but you're not quite in love with it? I love working on custom orders! Feel free to message me with any requests that you may have.
Accepted payment methods
- Accepts Etsy gift cards
Please expect to wait 7 business days (Mon-Fri) prior to your item shipping, unless a different processing time frame is stated in the listing. I strive to dispatch orders as quickly as possible, but quality of workmanship is very important to me!
Your item will be shipped first class using USPS in a small gift box, and I include a tracking # for all US purchases. You will receive an email notification when I ship your order out.
You are responsible for any additional customs fees, duties and taxes for your country. On average, international packages take 3-6 weeks to arrive, although some take longer - I do not consider packages lost until 8 full weeks have passed from the date I shipped the package. Thank you for your understanding!
Before completing checkout, please ensure the mailing address associated with your Etsy and Paypal accounts are correct. I am not responsible for any extra shipping costs if the address you supply is incorrect.
Refunds and Exchanges
To ensure all of my customers receive brand new pieces, I do not offer returns or exchanges on body jewelry (nose rings, belly rings, etc...) and earring purchases.
If you are unsure whether a certain diameter, style or gauge will fit, please message me and ask all questions prior to purchasing! However, if you purchase the wrong diameter/gauge, I would be more than happy to provide you with a 15% off coupon if you would like to place an order for the correct size.
If your item arrives damaged, please send me a picture immediately upon arrival - include both the broken item and the packaging in the photo. I will replace your jewelry at no cost to you - please allow up to the standard handling time (7 business days, Mon-Fri) for a replacement to be made and shipped out.
If your item is non-deliverable and marked return to sender I will attempt to contact you immediately after I receive it back so that we can discuss how you would like to proceed. Please note that shipping costs are nonrefundable - if a refund is decided upon I will refund the cost of the item only.
Alternatively, I would be happy to resend the package using an updated, correct address after receiving payment for the additional shipping costs.
Frequently asked questions
How do I measure my nose piercing for a hoop?
The hoops in my shop are measured using the inner diameter. To find out what inner diameter you wear, you will need to measure the distance from the piercing hole to the edge of your nose.
This will be the smallest inner diameter that you can wear, and the hoop will fit snugly - make sure you add 1mm to that size to accommodate the beads if you are buying a beaded hoop!
The most accurate way to measure a piercing is to use a caliper, but a ruler will also work.
I'm sensitive to nickel, can I wear your jewelry?
With the exception of the 316L stainless steel (surgical steel), none of the metals in my shop contain nickel. If a product does contain nickel, I will always include that information in the listing description.
The sterling silver that I use is an alloy of silver, copper and germanium - it does not contain any nickel. However, please note that all silver will tarnish and require periodic cleaning.
I use type-2 commercially pure niobium in my work - it is not an alloy, just niobium.
I use grade-1 commercially pure titanium - it is also not an alloy, just titanium.
