As a Scottie owner, this card captures our boy perfectly. I've sent this several times, and I was dismayed to learn that they were being discontinued by the artist. I'm glad that I bought more while they were still available.

From Darkroom to Lightroom

Photography is, and has been for as long as I can remember, one of my favorite things in life. When I'm shooting, I forget everything else - whether it’s too hot or cold for comfort, raining or snowing, or if I have a headache or cold - nothing but taking that picture matters. And downloading and looking at the photos at the end of a day - it's like Christmas every time! :-)

I grew up on Gotland in Sweden, a truly magical, windswept, beautiful island with a unique light and a style all of its own. My Grandfather and Dad were both avid amateur photographers and there was no shortage of cameras (and artistic critique and encouragement) around the house. My Dad and Grandfather are gone, but I have all their cameras, photos and artwork and they are still constant sources of inspiration.

After spending many years “shooting for fun”, I went to photography school to learn the bits I didn’t know. This was before digital cameras and Photoshop, and we learned everything from scratch: shooting medium format with a black cloth over our heads, developing and printing our own film, etc. I loved it and am thankful I got to experience a real darkroom before they are gone for good. I graduated from New England School of Photography (NESOP) in 1994, majoring in Portraiture with a minor in Color as Fine Arts.

My photos have been featured in books, magazines, calendars and advertising worldwide.

I grew up on the island of Gotland in Sweden, came to the US in 1991 “for a year” and ended up staying. I have tried my hand at many crafts and professions, but always find myself returning to photography. It is my true love and passion.
