Announcement    A Cause for crafting is a cooperative of craft persons who donate their time and talents to raise money for charities they care about. Craft persons determine the dollar amount that will be generated from the sale of the handmade items they list. When the item sells that money is sent off to the charity they have chosen. We strive to make this a simple and enjoyable process for both the craft person and the customer, both of whom will know that they are "sharing love" throughout the process. To find out more about us or to contacting us about joining our cooperative, go to https://www.acauseforcrafting.org

Sharing love, doing what we love

A "Cause for Crafting" is a collective of crafters who are using their skills to support causes thy care about. The causes are selected by the crafter and the major portion of the purchase price will be sent to that charity. The remainder of the purchase price is used only to cover operating expenses.
We invite customers and crafters alike to visit our website, acauseforcrafting.org to learn more about us and to help us grow.

Shop members

  • Kathy Turk

    Owner

Like many others, I find great satisfaction in crafting. As a volunteer, I've also encountered many unmet needs in the community. This shop was created out of a desire to join my love of crafting with a desire to help those in need.

  • Becky

    Creator

Becky hails from Vermont where folks know how to ward off cold weather. Becky has been creating warm and cozy hats for years. She has donated some of her hats to Cause for Crafting to raise funds to fight Cystic Fibrosis which claimed the life of a dear friend of the family.

  • Jackie

    Creator

Jackie has produced crochet items for as long as she can remember. Crocheting, and crafting in general, is her passion. She is one of the original members of our group and has a number of items for sale.

  • Liz and Carolyn

    Creator

Liz and Carolyn are sisters who have been working together to create snoods. Liz was an avid ballet student and is now a ballet Mom. Carolyn would always much rather sew than dance. Their charity is the Adaptive Dance Program based in Boston.

  • Jen

    Creator

Jen's specialty is quilt-inspired baby toys. As a teacher Jen knows the importance of interactive play in a child's development and her toys are designed to promote just that. A purchase of her craft supports the Nurse-Family Partnership.

  • Carolyn

    Maker

Sewing keeps her busy during the cold Vermont winters. She has several sturdy bags for sale that are made from upholstery remnants. These benefit House of Ruth Maryland. Her newest offering is a boo boo buddy sold for the Epilepsy Foundation.

  • Jeanne

    Creator

Jeanne is a true master of the knitting needles. We are proud to offer some of her handiwork on our site. Her love of animals lead her to chose an organization that aids both animals and people, Guide Dogs for the Blind.

  • the Luck Family

    Creator

The Luck family has a tradition of creating Christmas ornaments to share with family and friends. The Luck family also volunteers at various community service organizations. They chose one of those organizations, the St Vincent de Paul Society.

  • Maryann

    Maker

Maryann's favorite charity is St. Jude Children's Hospital. She also enjoys knitting, especially socks. We are thrilled to add her socks to our shop. If you've ever had a well made hand knit pair of socks you'll understand how special they are.
