About

NW Missouri lifelong artist

I don't remember a time in my life I was not creating something, it's so ingrained in me that I'm sure I was born with a paintbrush in my hand.

In 2012 my husband purchased a watercolor class for me as a Christmas gift and it's been the best gift I've ever received! I'm a photographer by trade and a watercolorist at night for fun. I started selling my work because you can't keep it all right?

I live in NW Missouri and you will find my work at local galleries and shops. You might also see my work hanging in exhibitions around the country including my first ever solo show in the summer of 2016.

Watch for my work in 2018 in "Splash 19, the best of watercolor". It's been an incredible road and I can't wait to see where it takes me from here!

Artist Statement:
My art helps transport me back to my youth in rural Iowa in the 1970’s. I was then, and still am, intrigued by small, quirky details both in everyday objects and human beings alike. I believe that you can find beauty in almost any object or person when looked at in the proper perspective and in a new light. I want to show the viewer how to observe something they see every single day in a unique and unexpected way.
Painting in a realistic realm I find to be meditative and soothing work. To me, realism is much like math, in that both brings me a calm knowing that there’s only one true answer of what the outcome should look like.
I am drawn towards the brightness of light but also the shadows that it casts, as I find both are required to create a balance in a piece of art. I find myself occasionally leaning towards darker art, which I feel balances my view of the world as a reminder that not everything is perfect.

Shipping
We are green as we can be, which means sometimes we reuse shipping materials. Most of the time you won't even be able to tell that your styrofoam peanuts have been used twice. :) On the other hand, sometimes you might get a box with our label over an old label. It just means we *heart* where we live and think buying new ones just to be thrown a way is not only a waste, but kinda sad :(

We ship twice a week, most of the time that's Wednesday and Saturday but we leave room for cosmic forces that tell us otherwise (including shipping early).

International packages are welcome. Sorry, we can't mark packages as "gift". We'd love to, to save you some money but it's kinda against the law. Breaking the law is not cool :) However, our products are so low priced that I have yet to hear one person getting a customs charge on them!
Refunds and Exchanges
All sales are final, please ask any questions you might have before purchasing.
Additional policies and FAQs
We will consider custom requests. Painting is my "fun hobby" and not my occupation, so I take on jobs that sound challenging, fun, or interesting. I like painting cars/motorcycles/trucks, people (sometimes), special buildings, etc. Never hurts to ask!
