About

The "Professional Heartstring Tuggers"

Have you ever received a gift from someone, and, boy, it just knocked the wind out of you? You couldn’t hold back your tears. You know… the good tears. Those streamy ones that pour down your face and make you look so silly, but you don't care because you are just that joyful. The good tears really take you RIGHT BACK to that memory. That EXACT moment is somehow captured perfectly. Wrapped in this perfect little package with this perfect little bow.

We like to call this ‘tugging at the heartstrings’. We love making unique & personalized handcrafted items. Heartstring tuggers. We’ll create that perfect gift or keepsake for you. The “streamy tear” ones that will take you back to fond memories. Or point you forward to exciting new beginnings. You decide.

So, why are we so passionate about what we do? Because we print our pictures out. We have a zillion frames. Pictures get changed in and out every few weeks. There’s something that is just special about having those moments on the wall. Especially these days when photos are piled up in storage drives never to be seen again. Sometimes, we feel like the digital age has taken over. And we don’t want that to happen to us. Or you, either.

That's why our very first items were... you guessed it... picture frames. Our frames come in all shapes and sizes. Most are from reclaimed wood, barnwood, old things that add character and interest. They are elegantly crafted, sanded, cleaned, sealed and cared for. Made perfectly to hold your memories.

We love to personalize your orders. Plaques reading Our First Home. Best Dog Ever. That quirky little saying that couples say that makes you really sick to your stomach with its corny sweetness? Yeah. We make that, too!

If you’ve ever done something regretful… like broke your mother’s favorite vase, or dropped an heirloom that was in your family for decades (oops!), this is your chance. Lets turn it into a frame, plaque, or something equally special & unique. Lets give it back to them. Completely new, but old. Brimming with memories. Make it a heartstring tugging moment! We’ll even let you take the credit 😉

Thanks for stopping by! We can’t wait to meet you!

PS: We are Clyde and Amy. We decided to name our shop after our middle names: Cecil and Lynn. We live in Old Forge, PA. It’s near Scranton in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania (NEPA).

Frequently asked questions

Can you personalize / customize my order?

Yes — most of our items already offer personalization options right in the listing (color, custom text, photo orientation).

Custom requests do take a bit longer to make and cost on average 25% more than if you were to purchase one of our standard sizes. And as much as we’d like to take on all custom projects and requests, there are times where we cannot.

If you have a request that’s completely custom please contact us.

Will my item look exactly like the photo?

Sometimes yes, but in most cases no. Our items are custom made and not mass produced. Generally we use pine for our home decor and birch for our ornaments. However, the wood type, degree of weathering, knots, grain, markings, color, texture and overall dimensions can vary. Each piece of wood is different and reacts differently to stain, paint and wood burning techniques, which will make your purchase completely unique and one-of-a-kind.

Do I need plexiglass for my frame?

Our frames typically include piece(s) of .040 PETG, Clear Styrene/Plexiglass to protect your photos. The clamping system may leave scuffs in your photo underneath the clamp -- the plexiglass will prevent this from happening. While it's not necessary, if your photo is valuable or sentimental, we recommend it. You can use a piece of glass from an old frame instead -- that will work fine, too!

When will I receive a printable file? Is it instant?

After purchasing a digital file, you’ll see a View your files link which goes to the Downloads page. Here, you can download all the files associated with your order.

Downloads are available once your payment is confirmed. If you paid with PayPal or a credit card on Etsy, confirmation might take a few minutes.

We’ll also send you a download notification email separate from any transaction notification emails you receive from Etsy and/or PayPal.

Is reclaimed wood safe for my home? Do you have any special process you use to make sure it is?

This is a great question and we urge you to ask this when buying any product that is made from reclaimed wood. Reclaimed lumber needs to be handled with care since it's often left outside for YEARS before we find it.

All of our reclaimed wood is cleaned, sanded and sealed with polyurethane so your frame will last. We scrub the wood clean with a mild antibacterial soap. Then, we steam the wood at high temperatures to sterilize it so it's safe for your home. After sanding and applying any finish, we seal our wood with matte polyurethane for extra protection.

Please read our blog post for more info https://cecilandlynn.com/reclaimedwood/

Can you make this style frame for a photo of [X] dimensions?

Yes. If you need a size that’s not listed, we can often accommodate custom requests (as our schedule allows).

Custom requests do take a bit longer to make and cost on average 25% more than if you were to purchase one of our standard sizes. And as much as we’d like to take on all custom projects and requests, there are times where we cannot.

Please note that we only carry plexiglass up to 8x10" in size so if you have a large picture you may need to source your own glass to protect the photo.

What's your return policy?

We gladly accept returns on non-personalized and non-custom orders that are returned in their original condition. Contact us within 7 days of delivery to request a return. Your purchase must be shipped back within 14 days of delivery.

We do not refund custom orders or personalized items made just for you. We do not refund shipping costs and the buyer must pay the return shipping on the item(s) being returned.

Contact us if your item is damaged during shipping as we insure all of our packages.
