Announcement   I have always loved color....and yarn! As a child, I would look at all the beautiful yarns my mom had and wanted so badly to create something from them, so she taught me to crochet. For years I only crocheted for my family, and for fund raisers, never even considering selling my pieces, but began really crocheting in earnest, and with a thought to selling, more recently. I used to use just inexpensive acrylic yarn, and still will, for some projects, but found my nirvana in the gorgeous color ways of hand dyed merino and alpaca yarns, and other natural fibers. I love creating colorful, soft, high quality pieces, out of the softest natural fibers, and love the feel of them in my hands. My pieces are full of color, texture, and whimsy. I let the yarn guide me in my designs, and I don't always know ahead of time, just where it will take me, but I think the results are always beautiful.

I use beautiful, Merino wool, wool blends, Alpaca, and other natural fibers, acrylic, and Hill Tribe Silver, to create unique fingerless gloves, headbands, shawls, scarves, and more. I love using the rich, saturated colors of the softest, hand dyed (and spun) Merino wool, and the soft, easy care of wool blends and acrylics. All the gorgeous, hand spun, hand dyed/painted wool yarn that I use in my pieces comes from the talented fiber artists on Etsy. I also show my support for the artisans of the Hill Tribes by adding their hand crafted fine silver charms, to my pieces. Hill Tribe Silver has a higher silver content than sterling silver, and is resistant to tarnishing.

Anything I create can be made using virtually any color combination you desire. Just send me a convo and I'll create something just for you, in your favorite colors.

The items I list are all pieces I love, really love, and would like to keep for myself. If they don't meet that standard, I don't list them. Only the most perfect, the ones I really want to keep, find their way to my Etsy shop. Many are pieces I can (and will) replicate but some will never be recreated as I cannot remember what I did (one of the drawbacks to not using a pattern), but those one of a kind pieces are my pride and joy, truly an expression of my artsy side!

You can also find my pieces in ReFINEments of Shepherdstown, a wonderful, hip, high end shop in the college town of Shepherdstown, WV. If you're in the area, stop in, they have fab designer pieces for great prices, AND wonderful, crocheted art, made by yours truly.

Most of my pieces are my own design. Some are made from patterns generously offered by others.

Thanks for visiting my shop.

I wish you all chaleur et la beaute (warmth and beauty),

Tammy Wolfe

I have been working on new shawls, and scarves and some cute, fingerless gloves and trying to get them uploaded. I'm still getting photos uploaded for other pieces, too. Please bear with me, I'll have them up soon, thanks!

About

A Lifelong Passion

Since I first fell in love with my mom's colorful yarns, as a child, I have loved to crochet. After she showed me how to use a crochet hook, I spent hours picking out yarn and making gifts for my friends and family. Over the years I would make scarves, afghans, baby blankets, pot holders, Christmas stockings, and other simple items, but I was raising kids and didn't have the time to crochet as much as I would've liked. With my last child almost grown, I was ready to spend my evenings designing and crocheting the kinds of pieces I could never find in stores. The very first thing I made was a pair of fingerless gloves, because I wanted a pair so badly but couldn't find any that looked the way I wanted: Cute, whimsical, high quality yarn, and different from all the others. I love bright colors, and interesting, one of kind colorways, so many of my pieces will never be repeated. After that first pair, I made some for my daughters, with matching headbands, and then made scarves and hats to match, too. Finally, I decided to sell them, so I opened an Etsy shop, and the rest is history.

I grew up crocheting, moved to an old farmhouse in the country where I raised chickens and pigs, baked bread, and crocheted afghans and Christmas stockings, and now design my own wearable crocheted creations.

Chaleur Et La Beaute, "warmth and beauty," perfectly describes my goal. I love working with beautiful fibers, deep saturated colors, hand spun merino wool, to make visually appealing pieces that are also functional. Wearable Art. Soft, warm, cozy, and gorgeous!! When I finish a piece, my first thought is "I can't sell this, I love it, I want to keep it." I have to love it before I will sell it to you.
