The picture doesn't render the color well. What a pleasurely surprise to see opening the box that it was not a yellow suede but a beautiful pale honey blonde color. So eleguant!! OK, I quickly took the shoulder pads out to take the old style off and let it drop on my body. It is such a thin suede, very delicate, it moves with you... extremely flattering!

An adorable simple fish. Mary Ann outdoes herself for service; I'd shop here any time again!

Chaos Garage is so pleased you decided to visit and bravely venture into the dark, dusty interior to discover decades of disorganized detritus.

You may make us an offer (we try to be flexible), ask any question, tell us a story, send us a picture....in general have fun browsing and chatting about old..er, vintage...stuff.

And, of course, buying. Please. Take an item away with you, and help us find Uncle Livingston. We're sure he's snoozing in there somewhere.

If Chaos Garage has a philosophy, it would be the excerpt that started the clear-out-and-simplify bandwagon rolling, from The Beauty of Life by William Morris:

"Believe me if we want art to begin at home, as it must, we must clear
our houses of troublesome superfluities that are for ever in our way:
conventional comforts that are no real comforts, and do but make work
for servants and doctors: if you want a golden rule that will fit everybody,
this is it:
"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful,
or believe to be beautiful‘
"And if we apply that rule strictly, we shall in the first place show the
builders and such-like servants of the public what we really want,
we shall create a demand for real art, as the phrase goes; and in the
second place, we shall surely have more money to pay for decent houses."

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
Payment
So far, we accept PayPal only. However, please remember: you do NOT have to sign up with PayPal to make a credit card payment. Always look for the link on the invoice and/or payment page they try to hide, allowing you to continue without creating an account.

ALWAYS feel free to convo if you would like an item reserved for you - we will happily hold it for you for up to 3 days.
Shipping
Shipping charges are for First Class Mail (packages 13 oz. and under).
If there is no other cost-effective option, we use Parcel Post for larger, heavier items.
However, increasingly postage for Flat Rate Priority Mail is only a little more, and often amazingly LESS than Parcel Post. When this fortunate circumstance occurs, we ship Priority, rather than have your package hauled by snailwagon.

Please convo with any questions about shipping options or methods, to request an exact price for International Shipping, to request expedited shipping and/or handling, special delivery options, estimated delivery time, or any other concern.
Refunds and Exchanges
Buyers always receive a return label and immediate full refund, including shipping, for any defective or non-working item, or any item significantly different from the photos and description to the point you are completely disappointed.

HOWEVER, PLEASE: if the item was damaged in shipment, or the package is damaged so badly you are afraid the item is too, please let us know right away, and if you haven't opened the package, don't until USPS sees it. We will need to file a claim so we can get you a refund or replacement (if possible) ASAP - and USPS is not known for spectacular speed.
