Note from shop owner Chariots Afire will be temporarily closed Oct 1 - Jan 8 for maternity leave :)

My husband and I are happily expecting our first child November 3rd, and we are lucky enough to be able to take an extended family leave from our jobs to help welcome our new son into the family. I'll be returning with the same stock in January, along with new things to add to the shop as well. I so appreciate you all allowing me this time away for my family and I look forward to reopening and building more into the shop come the new year!

Click the orange box to be notified when I return. In the meantime... Happy Halloween, Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Great bow tie, fits comfortably around our cat Tubbi. We requested a longer length and had no issues. Keep in mind, the collar part is a black elastic material, not the same material/color as the bow tie

About

A girl living out her dream.

My name is Jackie Wood, and I am truly living out my dream as the sole owner, designer and maker for Chariots Afire. I finished a Bachelor of Arts in Apparel Design from Seattle Pacific University in 2011, but I have been sewing for as long as I can remember. I make everything myself in my home office, and shoot as much as I can inside or right outside our apartment. Etsy lets me spend more time doing what I love and gives me a way to meet people all over the world. Customers always know where to find me and we're able to connect at any time, which is a huge blessing.

I started a business called "Designs by Jackie Ahrens" in 2004, selling handmade purses and clothes at local markets and craft fairs in San Jose, CA. In 2008 I made the move to Seattle, WA and took the business online, renaming it Chariots Afire. I had just discovered Etsy, and it was the perfect time to give it a shot. I photographed everything I had on hand and listed it, crossing my fingers that someone might come across my shop and find it interesting.

Thousands of sales later, I'm so glad I took a chance with Etsy! I am now able to run Chariots Afire full-time, which truly is a lifelong dream. I have been so blessed by the community Etsy has let me be a part of. I love the relationships I have with my customers and with fellow sellers all over the world! Etsy has not only expanded my business but also my world, and it is such a privilege to be a part of this community.

My husband, Stephen, and my cats, Charlie & Theo, all play a huge role in Chariots Afire's success. Not only do I receive support & inspiration from all three, but also great photography help from my husband and adorable modeling & cuddles from my cats. I'm so grateful to have them to share this experience with!
