Chasing the Clouds
My name is Karen Clarke and I have always been interested in the arts. In the days of my youth I would spend hours sketching and writing short stories. My interest in photography began 20 years ago and I began my journey with a Canon SLR camera that my husband lovingly gave me for Valentine's Day.
When I was living in Florida the thunderstorms would leave behind huge puddles on the streets and sidewalks. One day as I was heading out of the door with my children I instantly became attracted to a puddle on the sidewalk with a crack going through it. My obsession for rain puddle reflections began at that moment.
Then the era of digital photography began and my mom gave me the gift of a digital point and shoot camera. At that time I began focusing on self portraits along with the rain puddle reflections. Shortly thereafter my family uprooted and moved to Portland Oregon.
I purchased my first DSLR, a Sony, and have owned several different DSLRs since then. At that time I met my best friend, a talented seamstress and songwriter. Through her, I found work shooting portraits for upcoming music groups and shooting family portraits.
A few years later I found myself working at a photo studio as a second photographer/assistant, an enjoyable job that afforded me the opportunity to make children smile and to photograph and hold newborn babies.
Today I am back in school to finish my degree, enjoy baking and cooking, and recently purchased a 35mm vintage camera in which I plan to use for a future series of images.

Photographs are not printed with borders or a signature. Not all buyers are interested in having either one, or both, included with the print. Some customers prefer a signature on the back of the print instead. Due to these reasons, I ask that buyers request either option, or both, prior to or during checkout. When requesting a border please let me know how thick of a border you wish to have on the print. These add ons do not have any extra charge. A signature will add on an extra day's processing time.
