Gli inizi
The beginnings
Ho iniziato a fare sedie macramè quando avevo circa 10 anni, mia nonna mi ha insegnato come lavorare all'uncinetto nello stesso periodo e ho iniziato a cucire poco dopo. Nel corso degli anni, mi sono dilettato in diverse cose, principalmente per fare un regalo a qualcuno. Ho sempre voluto vendere le mie creazioni ma non mi è mai sembrato il momento giusto.
Avanti veloce di un bel po 'di anni per essere sposato con figli. Uno dei miei figli è nato con la sindrome di Down. All'inizio abbiamo avuto alcuni ostacoli, ma ho continuato a lavorare a tempo pieno. Dopo qualche altro anno, alcuni dei problemi originali sono tornati ma un po 'più complessi. Ho lasciato il mio lavoro a tempo pieno per essere in grado di gestire meglio la sua salute. Non ci è voluto molto per capire che il cucito e il crafting sono i miei antistress... risparmiatori di sanità mentale. E con ciò è stato avviato Check Designs.
Uno dei miei obiettivi è quello di restituire alla comunità donando oggetti per le lotterie o donando una parte dei miei profitti a diverse organizzazioni. Dal momento in cui ho ricevuto la diagnosi di DS e difetti cardiaci congeniti di mio figlio nel 2009 fino ad oggi, ci sono state così tante persone e organizzazioni diverse che ci hanno aiutato in vari modi. I started making macramé chairs when I was about 10 years old, my grandma taught me how to crochet around the same time, and I started sewing shortly after that. Over the years, I have dabbled in different things, mainly to make someone a gift. I always wanted to sell my creations but it never seemed like the right time.
Fast forward quite a few years to being married with children. One of my children was born with Down Syndrome. We had a few hurdles in the beginning but I kept working full time. After a few more years, some of the original problems came back but a bit more complex. I quit my full time job to be able to manage his health better. It didn't take too long to realize that sewing and crafting are my stress relievers... sanity savers. And with that Check Designs was started.
One of my goals is to give back to the community by either donating items for raffles or donating a portion of my profits to different organizations. From the time I got my son's DS & congenital heart defect diagnosis in 2009 through the present time, there have been so many different people and organizations that have helped us in various ways.
