About

A journey into geekiness!

Cheeky Geeky came about after lots of Craft Britannia team members told me they found it difficult to find suitable gifts for the men in their lives. As a gamer that has worked in games testing and games reviewing my colleagues have become guinea pigs for potential gifts.

I was brought up with a mixture of upcycling alongside some very classic pieces of computer tech. This has definitely shaped the way I see things and these 2 things feature very heavily in this shop. On one hand we would recycle ice cream tubs and keep toilet roll tubes for my Blue Peter and Tony Hart creations, while on the other hand we would order our food shopping from an early form of the internet known at Prestel, which looked like a very basic Teletext.

I was a big fan of roller skates and bikes, especially BMX's. We used to make little ramps and jump over our friends in a kind of homage to Evel Knievel. This ended sadly when my dad chose to buy me a racer instead of a Grifter and for a clumsy, accident prone child this proved too dangerous.

My love of tech grew when we got a Texas Instruments TI/99 with a voice synthesiser and this started my love of gaming too with Parsec. We later got a Commodore 64 and would load games on an old skool tape deck, oh those days of endless loading failures.

Since being a grown up, (hah) myself and my partner have bought most of the Nintendo consoles except for the Wii U, but I have tested using them. We've had a 3DO, a PS1, a PS2 an Xbox and an Xbox 360. I finally bought my Grifter too, in the form of a Hybrid bike but I won't be attempting any ramps with it.

We love our gadgets and I could go on for hours about the various computers we’ve had but I think you can be geeky about anything. This shop is a real reflection of the hobbies and interests of me, my partner, friends and family.

After all my interpretation of a geek is "People that are passionate about their pastimes.'

Frequently asked questions

I need an item quickly as a last minute gift. Can you help me?

All items are made to order and I work through my order list on a first come first served basis. This means that during busy times your order can take up to the full 5-15 working days turnaround time suggested but during quieter times I can send them out quicker.

If you need an item at short notice please do get in touch with me before ordering and I will let you know if I can get it made and shipped to you in time.

This may require you to pay for expedited shipping so discussing this with me before placing your order is the most effective use of both our time. It will also prevent you from having to wait for your order to be cancelled if I cannot get it you in time for the date required.

Does my order have a tracking number?

Tracking does not come as standard on UK post both local and International. I offer a tracking upgrade for both UK and International mail so please check the options in the drop-down menu and select the preferred method of shipping.

If you select the upgraded tracking option I will add your tracking details to the Shipping Notification that you will receive by email once your order is on the way to you.

If you have just ordered and realised that you need tracking please contact me using Etsy Conversations and I will arrange to upgrade your shipping. If your item has already been despatched it will be too late to upgrade.
