5 out of 5 starsI ordered a picture of my parents’ kitten, and they were IN LOVE with this painting! It shows all of Gracie’s details. The packaging was really nice, and Cherie was great with checking in and making sure the painting was exactly what I wanted. I definitely recommend her for a pet portrait!

5 out of 5 starsCherie did an amazing job of capturing the spirits of my cats from the photos I sent her. I love the style of her painting and the beautiful background colors she chose. One of my cats passed away this summer and this is exactly the memorial I wanted for her.

5 out of 5 starsWe love our pet portraits! Cherie Taylor is one of those unique artists who only comes around once in a lifetime. She not only captures the spirit and look of your beloved pets, she captures their essence. So glad we got introduced to her custom dog portraits via an associate at Chewy.com. While we were grieving over our beloved Havanese who crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, Cherie painted their portraits in a timely manner, with attention to detail and offered words of comfort. We definitely plan to order another Cherie Taylor custom painting after we get our new Havanese puppy in 2021.

About CherieTaylorStudio
Cherie Taylor - Artist
ARTIST BIO
Cherie Taylor is a fine artist specializing in ink and watercolor drawings. Her work is varied, but usually draws from themes in nature. Her interest in the arts started from a young age, inspired by many talented family members! Growing up the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, she was influenced by the nature and wildlife around her. She continued to develop her skills as an artist throughout her childhood by drawing what she saw while enjoying the great outdoors.
She continued her formal education in college, graduating from Virginia Tech in 2008 with a Bachelors of Fine Art in Studio Art. She has worked in the arts industry in various capacities over the years including as a 3D animation artist, photographer, and videographer but switched gears in 2016 to pursue her dream of being a full-time studio artist.
Cherie currently lives in Sterling, Virginia with her husband, Andrew. When not making artsy things, she can usually be found wandering around outside, camping, hiking, or off-roading in their lifted Xterra. She also loves cooking, listening to rock/metal music, singing along to Broadway musicals, and reading all things nerdy.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I strive to make beautiful things that inspire myself and others. I am fascinated by extreme contrast, both visually and conceptually. My work plays on the visual differences between the black of the ink and the bold and bright colors of watercolor – the details in the intricate lines of pen play alongside loose washes. I love the outdoors, and most of my pieces represent some form of nature – animals, landscapes – and the relationship humans have with nature. I find myself most inspired when I am outside, whether it’s hiking, camping, or going for a drive on back-country roads. I love to create visual representations of these moments that evoke the same emotions of inner peace I feel when I am interacting with nature and I hope my work can evoke the same emotions for the viewer. I am also fascinated by conceptual contrasts – good vs evil – and use my art as a method to explore these concepts.

What Materials and Mediums Do You Use?
I love to experiment with new materials and mediums, and I try not to limit myself. But lately my favorite mediums have been ink, watercolor, and colored pencil. I also love painting with oils and acrylics. My favorite materials right now include my Shinhan Professional watercolor paints, Dr Ph. Martins Inks, Pigma Micron Pens, Faber-Castell pens, Strathmore Mixed Media paper, Prismacolor Pencils, and Canson Mi-Teintes paper.
Are Your Materials Archival?
Yes, always! I make sure every piece of my artwork is acid-free and archival to protect it and ensure its quality through the years. This includes all of my mediums, paper, canvas, and packing materials. I also only use professional grade mediums.
If I Buy Your Artwork, Am I Allowed to Make Prints or Reproductions?
No. I maintain ownership rights of reproduction and use of my artwork’s image. Use of such image, either in part or in its entirety in the aforementioned capacities is not allowed without written consent from me.
What Happens If My Artwork is Damaged in Shipping?
Please reach out to me immediately if your artwork is damaged in shipping. I would be more than happy to fix the artwork, where possible, or try to replace the damaged work. I would also be happy to refund you the price of the damaged work if you provide documentation of the damage.
Is The Artwork Exactly As It Appears on Etsy?
I make every effort to represent the artwork digitally as close to the original as possible, but please allow for slight color variance due to the differences in computer monitors.
Do You Ship Outside the United States?
Unfortunately at this time I am not offering shipping outside the United States as an option on Etsy. If you are outside the US and would like to purchase a piece of my artwork, please contact me and I’d be happy to work something out.
