About ChesapeakeBayCrochet
A Life Time of Crochet
I learned to crochet from my Grandma and my Mom when I was still in elementary school. Grandma made doilies and Mom made afghans. I took these skills a step further to crocheting wearable items. When scarves became popular, I was in my element, crocheting one after the other.
Later, the idea of re-creating some of my Grandmother's delicate lacy crocheted items rooted in that creative part of my brain. I practiced working with thread until I mastered techniques for crocheting with steel hooks. Thus began the crocheted vintage pot holder phase of my life.
Another passion has always been dolls. As a doll collector, I found myself attracted to frilly dresses and ruffled gowns. This passion naturally morphed into the creation of Victorian dresses to fit 11 1/2" fashion dolls.
I love working with cotton threads and yarns, along with other natural fibers such as wool, bamboo and silk. They are softer and work up much prettier than acrylic yarns.

Shop policies
I started crocheting when I was very young--about 8 or 9. My grandmother and mother both taught me this incredible art form and I have grown to love crochet more than knitting, embroidery, sewing, painting or any other hand craft.
Crochet is relaxing and my method for tuning out the world and it's insanity. Crochet is ordered, structured and beautiful.
