Bringing fairies to life

As a young child, I spent most of my time wandering the woods and fields around my house in a world of my own creation. This fantasy world was richly inspired by my love of classic fairy tales and fables, especially those illuminated with the likes of Rackham, Dulac, Brian Froud, Alan Lee and the Robinsons. As an adult, not much has changed! I now wander the woods and fields around my own home, and draw inspiration for my creations from the surrounding wilderness.

Chicory Dell Arts started around 2001 while I was majoring in children's book illustration at the Hussian School of art in Philadelphia. I made fairies for friends and had a few on consignment at a local gallery..... The best part was, I could bring all the creatures of my imagination to life, in 3 dimensions! After a few years, I found there was a whole community of people dedicated to creating one of a kind art dolls and fairies, and knew after never really fitting in anywhere, I had found a home with what I loved doing most.

Over the years I have received Froudian awards, and been featured in the 2009 issue of Faerie magazine. I have created and sold hundreds of one of a kind pieces to faerie friends all over the world, and have been so blessed to have a few very special collectors that have made the continuation of my dream possible!

In the future I hope to grow and bring to life some of the larger projects that have been spinning around in my head for the last couple of years. Hopefully I will be able to share them here!

Returns and exchanges

*Please note that I must receive communication from you before items can be returned. Mailing back an item that was damaged in shipping cancels the insurance. Please contact me within 2 business days of receiving problem items so that we can work out an arrangement., I am pretty flexible if there is a problem and will work with you to remedy the situation*

Items are returnable/ refundable in the event they are lost/ or arrive broken in shipment. This is a very rare occurrence and has not happened in many years, as my items are sturdily made and very carefully packaged to withstand rough handling by the postal service.

Items that incur damage in shipment require that photos of the damaged items and packaging be sent to me. The buyer must keep all damaged packaging and product if and when an insurance claim needs to be filed. If a refund is chosen, I will initiate the insurance claim with UPIC on my end, and will refund you the full amount. There may need to be some small cooperation on your part with the post office/ etsy in order for the claim to be approved and for me to refund you.

In the event you would prefer a replacement, or would like to have an item repaired (if possible), I will email a prepaid return label so that you may send the item back, packaged in the same way that it was originally sent. Once an item is sent back to me I will determine if the item is repairable, or send a replacement. Please contact me within 1-2 business days after receiving the damaged item so that I can resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Change of heart: If you change your mind on a purchase, and the item has not yet shipped, I will reimburse you in full. If the item has already been shipped, I will refund the cost of the item once it is mailed back to me and received in the exact condition it was sent (packed the same, insured and with tracking) in this case as the buyer you would be responsible for paying to ship back. Unfortunately I can not reimburse shipping fees on change of heart purchases. Please note that I allow 2 business days for cancellation notification after you receive your item. I will not accept returns for change of heart if I don't get notification within this time frame.

Circumstances where returns/refunds are not accepted:

(International customers)

Unexpected duty/vat fees ..(see above shipping policies) Please calculate your duty fees and budget accordingly. An item with duty fees/taxes may be delivered to customs, with a pickup notice left in your mailbox. If it doesn't get picked up in time and gets sent back to me, I will send you an invoice for you to pay for re shipment. If an item gets returned to me due to uncollected vat fees on your end, and you decide that you no longer want the item, I will refund the cost of the item minus the shipping.

(All customers)

Worn earrings... For hygenic reasons I cannot accept returns on this particular item. If the earring has a defect not due to normal wear and tear (or improper use) within 2 weeks of purchase, I will remake the earring(s) after photos of the damage have been sent to me.

Currently I accept direct pay, and paypal.
U.S shipping

Most of my items shipped within the United States are shipped via USPS priority mail, (some exceptions depending on type of item listed) and are insured through UPIC.
All items must be shipped to the name and address on file with ETSY and PayPal. Make sure your address is up to date before making a purchase. If you would like a faster or alternate shipping method, contact me before making the purchase so that we can discuss other options.

International shipping

International items are shipped first class to keep prices reasonable. Depending on location, this can take anywhere from 14 business days to approximately a month. This may include time held up in customs. If you would prefer to have items shipped priority, please contact me before making a purchase so that I can give you an updated shipping cost. It is also imperative to know the rules and regulations regarding duty/vat fees that you may incur upon delivery. These are different for each country, and I will not be responsible for reimbursing any extra duty fees you may have to pay, so please make time to research before making a purchase.

Shipping overages that exceed 1.00 will be reimbursed after I print the shipping label.
