About

Art Chooses the Artist

I never intended to become a full time artist. Just like life it "happens". Having been laid off from a career of 30 years I had to reinvent myself. I am a firm believer of using what you already know and started selling my art work. ETSY helped to share my product in the world market and now I paint full time.

Welcome
Thank you for visiting my on line store. I make and paint a variety of useful, decorative and sentimental items. Most of my art is inspired by nature in my garden studio.
China painting is a multi-step process. A mixture of pigments and oils are applied by brush, sponge or finger painting to glazed or bisque (unglazed) porcelain. It is then fired in a kiln. Most items will be painted and fired several times to achieve the final look. Liquid gold, platinum or mother of pearl may also be applied in the final stages and this too will be fired onto the porcelain. Finished items can be hand washed. If the piece does not have gold detail or is not delicate it can go in the dishwasher. Never put items detailed with gold in the microwave or the dishwasher.
If you see something you like and have a question or special request please contact me. Many items can be personalized for that special occasion.
