The Birthplace of the Chrismons Ornaments Tradition

In 1957 Mrs. Spencer put Christ's name on the tree in Ascension Lutheran church by designing a set of ornaments based on symbols of Christ including monograms of his name in Greek. The colors of white and gold were chosen for the Purity of Christ and his majesty as part of the Trinity. The tree was so popular she shared her patterns and taught workshops sending the ministry around the world. The designs expanded to include the teachings of Christ in the Parable Balls set, Beatitudes Set, and Miracles to name a few. Today we offer the same patterns and a few additional materials for making your own Chrismons to continue support of this world wide ministry.

Join us each December as we tell Christ's story through the tree evenings from 7 - 9 pm. Check the church calendar for specific dates at
