A little over 2 years ago our sweet Brittany Emma left our side. We raised her from a pup and saw her to the end. I searched and searched the Internet for the perfect piece to represent and keep a bit of her close to my heart. Christine's work captured my attention. I now own a beautiful piece of art work created by Christine. She treats your loved one's ashes with respect and any ashes not used were returned. This beautiful piece depicts all my love for Emma. Thank you again Christine!!!

About

artisan lampwork glass and memorial art glass

Living in the Pacific Northwest, I see a lot of grey.

Playing with fire, melting glass and creating lampwork glass beads, marbles, and pendants helps to counter most of the gloom...playing with bright happy colors chases the rest of the gloom away.

You'll find cheerful upbeat pieces in my shop, designed to make you smile.

You'll also find memorial art glass pieces, made with conscious loving intent, to help heal your heart.

I've been making glass beads since 2007, and have been creating jewelry since 1992.

My favorite medium is glass and my favorite technique is melting. To me, glass is the perfect artistic medium: easy to shape when it’s hot, glass plays with light and color beautifully, and barring accidents, glass art endures long after the artist.

Thanks for visiting my shop! I'm Christine Hansen and I'm a glass and mixed media jewelry artist.

I will work with you to create a beautiful keepsake that honors your loved one's memory. You may choose to wear your heart as a pendant, hang it as an ornament, display it as a personal art object, or simply keep it in your pocket and hold it, as one would a worry-stone.

To create a memorial heart, I use a tiny portion of cremated ashes and encase them in molten glass. The ashes react with the glass and may create bubbles - the results are lovely, but unpredictable. Transparent glass discreetly allows you to see the ashes, while opaque glass conceals the treasure within.

Always, my intent with my art has been to uplift, empower, or benefit in some way everyone who encounters my work. Creating memorial pieces of art is a natural evolution of my original desire to be of service, and allows me the privilege of using my talents and gifts to benefit others in a more meaningful, personal way.

I’ve found working on memorial pieces to be a deeply spiritual creative experience, because when I do so, I feel a powerful connection to the Divine.

Grief is an intensely personal process, something that is different for everyone. I believe this process should be honored, and that each person needs to move through this process at his or her own pace. My hope is that my memorial hearts and beads will offer support and comfort as this process unfolds.

Thank you for considering me for this special project!

Payment
I accept payments from PayPal as well as Etsy's Direct Checkout (this enables you to pay with a credit card and complete the transaction here on Etsy, rather than going to a different site). Your item will ship as soon as payment clears.

If payment does not clear within 7 days, your order will be cancelled. As long as your account is set up properly, this shouldn't happen.

Made to order beads or custom orders will not be started until payment has cleared.

In order to minimize paper usage, I do not include an invoice or receipt with your purchase. If you'd like to receive one, please indicate this in the "note to seller" section.

Washington state residents: Sales tax must be added to your purchase. Please do not pay for your purchase right now - instead - please convo me with your street address and zip code so that I may figure it correctly. Thank you!
Shipping
I guarantee my work and am happy to combine multiple purchases to minimize shipping costs.

USPS regulations require that cremated remains be labeled as such, and shipped via Priority Express. Priority Express service is the fastest, most secure delivery method for your memorial pieces. My shipping rates reflect the cost of this service.

International buyers are responsible for any and all duties or customs charges that may be applied to your item(s).

Most items from my shop ship in a kraft jewelry gift box tied with pretty ribbons, inside a bubble wrap envelope. I do recycle & reuse mailing materials whenever and wherever possible.

Not in the US? I'm happy to ship internationally - just convo me with your address so that I may figure up the correct and current shipping charges for you.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be completely thrilled with your purchases. If you're not, please let me know right away so I can make it right.

Please report any issues to me at chris[at]christinehansen[dot]com within 15 days of the postmark date sent to you and I’ll work with you to correct the problem.

All items are sent out in perfect condition and packed well and must be returned in the same condition within 10 days of contacting me.

Shipping charges can not be refunded.

Books, custom orders, and tutorials are not eligible for return.
Additional policies and FAQs
I do my best to take the most accurate photos possible, but glass and shiny things are notoriously difficult to photograph. Any white spots in the photos are a reflection on the surface of the glass, and not part of the bead(s) or jewelry. Also - please keep in mind that computer monitors differ in resolution, clarity, and color representation.

Each piece is thoroughly cleaned and inspected before I sell it or use it in my jewelry designs.
