La vida de cualquier joven madre de 2 menores de 4 años parecería lo suficientemente ocupada, pero agregue tener que vivir en México mientras está embarazada de 6 meses con el bebé # 3, para obtener el estatus legal de su esposo en Estados Unidos, y "ocupado" no describe la vida en ese momento. Fue allí donde aprendí por primera vez a lavar mi ropa a mano en lugar de tirarla a una lavadora; cómo limpiar y cocinar alimentos para mi familia en lugar de comprarlos preenvasados; y cómo amar y reír más fuerte de lo que nunca supe posible. Los ideales de lo que se necesitaba para cuidar a mi familia cambiaron para siempre de necesidades ligeramente materialistas a básicas.
Por supuesto, durante mi tiempo en México me afectó mucho más que aprender a vivir de manera diferente. La belleza en todo lo que me rodeaba, desde la naturaleza hasta los coloridos edificios y cestas, cautivó mi atención. El color de las frutas, flores y cultivos se reflejaba en todas las cosas hechas por el hombre. La belleza de mi entorno y la nueva simplicidad que encontré en la vida se combinaron de una manera que nunca fue posible.... ¡creatividad!
A los 8 meses de embarazo, mis 2 hijos mayores y yo tuvimos que dejar a mi esposo en México y regresar a casa en Oklahoma para prepararnos para el nacimiento de Ian. Esperé pacientemente con la esperanza de que a mi esposo se le permitiera regresar a casa antes de que naciera nuestro 3er hijo con residencia legal. Pero, no tenía nada más que tiempo y ansiedad, así que comencé a coser. No tenía idea de lo natural que me llegaría. Fue una bendición tener algo tan simple de hacer que centró mi atención y calmó mis nervios.
Poco antes de que naciera nuestro hijo, a mi esposo se le permitió regresar a los Estados Unidos con residencia legal. ¡Y menos de un año después tomé la decisión de compartir mis productos para bebés simples y creativos con amigos y familiares que, después de mucho aliento, se convirtieron en mi tienda de Etsy 'Cute Baby' (Chula Baby)!
Esta historia es la base de mi negocio. Es la razón por la que comparto artículos hermosos, básicos y de calidad con aquellos que los necesitan a un precio asequible. Me inspiran continuamente mis hijos y su feroz amor por la vida.
The life of any young mother of 2 under age 4 would seem busy enough, but add having to live in Mexico while 6 months pregnant with baby #3, to obtain your husbands legal status in America, and 'busy' doesn't quite describe life in that moment. It was there I learned for the first time how to wash my clothes by hand instead of throwing them into a washer; how to clean and cook food for my family instead of buying it prepackaged; and how to Love and Laugh harder than I ever knew possible. The ideals of what was needed to care for my family changed forever from mildly materialistic to basic neccessities.
Of course during my time in Mexico I was affected by much more than learning to live differently. The beauty in everything around me from nature to colorful buildings and baskets captivated my attention. The color of fruits, flowers and crops were reflected in all things manmade. The beauty of my surroundings and the new simplicity I found in life were combining in a way I never new possible....creativity!
At 8 months pregnant, my 2 oldest children and I had to leave my husband in Mexico and return home to Oklahoma to prepare for the birth of Ian. I waited patiently in the hopes, that my husband would be allowed home before our 3rd child was born with Legal Residency. But, I had nothing but time and anxiety so I started to sew. I had no idea how naturally it would come to me. It was a blessing to have something so simple to do that focused my attention and calmed my nerves.
Shortly before our son was born my husband was allowed back into the U.S. with legal residency. And less than a year later I made the choice to share my simple and creative baby products with friends and family which, after much encouragement, grew into my 'Cute Baby' (Chula Baby) Etsy shop!
This story is the foundation of my business. It is the reason I share beautiful, basic, quality items with those who need them at an affordable price. I am continuously inspired by my children and their fierce love of life.
