Classic Elegance, LLC was born for one reason...to breathe life into our belief in providing value in a home furnishings niche that is sorely missing value...that of high quality, finely hand-crafted, classically styled furnishings. We focus solely on and build with only solid hardwoods and natural wood veneers, cover with finest grade sumptuous leather hides, adding hand-carved details with traditional old-world craftsmanship, all resulting in unique, luxurious classic furnishings. Our pieces are fully restored and/or hand-made entirely in the our shop in Delaware, as are all our other hand crafted leather goods.

-Shipping Goals
Since all shipments were not “created equal”, our goal at Classic Elegance, LLC is to provide the best possible shipping experience for each specific purchase and delivery location.

-Where We Ship
Classic Elegance LLC will ship to any accessible destination within the 48 Contiguous United States.
We do not ship outside the 48 Contiguous United States.
A destination is either Local Area or Non-local area.
Local Area is defined as within 250 Google Maps driving miles of our shop address.
Non-local Area is therefore defined as not within 250 Google Maps driving miles of our shop address.

-How We Ship
For “Local Area Delivery”, Classic Elegance will provide direct delivery of your purchase using “White Glove” service via enclosed company truck or trailer.
For “Non-local Area Delivery", Classic Elegance will utilize a freight shipper of our choosing that provides similar “White Glove” delivery.
(For Non-Freight class items, such as Journals, capable of traveling through mail, we use the US Post Office, Fed Ex or UPS. See Below)

-Shipping & Handling fees are typically based on the purchased item’s crate dimensions, packaged final weight, and the final destination address and accessibility. Shipping can be a significant expense, but to keep things simple and less expensive to the customer, Classic Elegance offers FREE SHIPPING regardless of distance. All shipments are completely inspected and photographed by Classic Elegance against pre-shipment damage.

Because our shipping process is designed to optimize a damage free delivery, please allow 7-10 days for shipping confirmation. We will provide tracking information when available.

-Return/Exchange Policy
Classic Elegance LLC strictly maintains a “no returns or exchanges” policy. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Refunds are not given for any reason on any invoice, no exceptions. Once your invoice remittance has cleared and your item(s) has/have been packaged for delivery, purchases cannot be canceled for any reason. We do not accept special orders. All items offered for sale by Classic Elegance, LLC are “as is”.

Why this policy? First, as protection against the unmitigated growth of fraud in the online marketplace, mounting business losses in unrecoverable goods as well as the rapid growth of payment disputes. We have extraordinary internal standards for quality in both restoration and care of our furniture. All pieces are thoroughly photographically documented as well as described in detail as to their condition when they are offered for sale. Purchases are also photographically confirmed as without damage or defect at the time of shipment.

Second, we custom make shipping crates made to fit each shipped item, lined with protective foam and secured in place within the crate. Each piece is bubble wrap protected and covered before the crate is sealed. We go to the same extraordinary lengths to package and document your furniture as we do in restoring it. Crating one item can take up to two days. It would be a waste of our time to spend a month restoring one chair, just to have it damaged in shipping.

Third, at Classic Elegance LLC, we go to extraordinary lengths to ensure you, our customers, understand what you are buying, can see exactly what the items look like from numerous angles and viewpoints in clear lighting, and that our furniture pieces are also verbally described honestly to the best of our knowledge, accurately and thoroughly. On occasion, if available, we may even offer corroborating provenance with a piece. We ship your purchase with extremely high confidence that you are getting exactly what you expected, or better.

Finally, it goes without saying that our business will better thrive with your positive feedback, word of mouth recommendations and a highly satisfied customer base. Therefore, ultimately, our success depends on your complete satisfaction, our primary goal. It is no coincidence that many of our clients return again and again for additional purchases.

-Shipping Issues
Since all sales are final, we highly recommend all shipments be thoroughly inspected before officially accepting responsibility for your item(s) by signature. If a shipping problem does occur, please contact the freight carrier immediately. All shipped items are photographically documented during shipment preparation to prevent shipping a damaged piece, so there will be corroborating evidence the item was damaged enroute, not at the source. Classic Elegance, LLC is not responsible for unforeseen delivery issues (such as “acts of God” or highway closures, traffic accidents, etc.) resulting in timing changes. Because one can never foresee every possibility, we reserve the right to make rare exceptions to our Return/Exchange policy. Please contact us if you wish to discuss a possible exception.

-Other
You are responsible for any taxes charged by your State of Residence.
For Local Area Deliveries, please contact us via the Etsy Message system to arrange for delivery.
Classic Elegance, LLC does not provide for purchase pick-up. All purchases are delivered.

LEATHER GOODS PURCHASES (Non-Furniture) - FREE Shipping

- General
Classic Elegance, LLC ships FREE via USPS Standard Mail to destinations in the contiguous 48 United States, in appropriate packaging for the item(s) being shipped. Expedited or “Rush” service via USPS Priority Mail is available upon checkout, but at current USPS rates. You may additionally contact us via the Etsy Message system with specifics so that we may do our best to meet your needs.

Every shipment is quality inspected by Classic Elegance against pre-shipment damage.

- Return/Exchange/Cancelation Policy (Non-Furniture)

Classic Elegance LLC strictly maintains a “no returns, refunds or exchanges” policy. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Refunds are not given for any reason on any invoice, no exceptions. Once your invoice remittance has cleared and your item(s) has/have been packaged for delivery, purchases cannot be canceled for any reason. We do not accept special orders. ”Unverified” Addresses

Should a purchaser’s Etsy shipping address be flagged by Etsy as “Unverified”, we will attempt to contact you via your listed email address and Etsy message system on the date of your order, or the first two hours of the next business day should you order after 8pm EST/EDT, to confirm or correct that address. If we receive no response within 36 hours, we will ship to that purchaser’s listed Etsy shipping address. If the purchase is subsequently returned to us as undeliverable by the USPS, we will again contact the purchaser via email and Etsy message on the date we receive the returned package. By making an initial purchase from Classic Elegance, LLC, the purchaser agrees to make an additional “2nd shipping cost” payment for a repeat shipping to a corrected address. If the purchaser does not purchase for the repeat shipment and correct the address within 48 hours of the date/time of our email and Etsy message, Classic Elegance LLC reserves the right to cancel the sale without refund, per our no refunds policy. A “2nd shipping cost” purchase covers the additional expenses in reprocessing time, repackaging materials, relabeling, and second USPS postage charge. If a package is lost by the USPS after shipment to an “Unverified” address, having received no corrective communication from the purchaser within the 36 hour window stated above, Classic Elegance, LLC reserves the right to not refund the purchase regardless of the package ever being located at a future date.

Care, Cleaning and Safety of Leather Goods and Seating

Congratulations on your purchase of fine leather journals or seating! In order to maximize the life, condition and enjoyment of your new leather, please read and follow these simple instructions for:

Safety

Your furniture is well made, inspected before shipping and should be used only for its intended purpose. Personal injury or product damage may result from misuse, abuse or any use other than that intended.

Routine Care and Cleaning of Leather

Dust seating often. We recommend vacuum cleaning with the crevice and/or dusting tool to clean seams and joints if present. Dust and food particles are abrasive and can prematurely wear out these areas.

Gently wipe and condition leather. We recommend before initial use of seating, and thereafter at least bi-annually, the application of a high quality leather conditioner using a lint-free cloth. As a general rule with leather, Do Not Rub.

Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleansers. Only use leather cleaning products specifically formulated and recommended for leather furniture cleaning. Follow all instructions that accompany any leather cleaning product. Additionally, leather conditioners may provide a stain barrier and help extend the life of your leather. Before using any cleaning or conditioning product on your leather, if possible, test it first on a less visible area.

Do not position leather near heat sources or in direct sunlight if possible. Leather is much less likely to fade or crack when kept out of direct sunlight and kept at least three (3) feet from a heat register / radiator. Do not leave any materials with oils or ink on leather furniture, as the oils or ink from these items might transfer to the leather.

Avoid sharp objects. Leather is durable, however allowing sharp objects on leather goods may cause cuts or scratches, or worse, permanent damage. Leather is natural skin, and as such, animal claws or nails may damage its appearance.

Removing Stains and Spills

Water spots/stains can be removed from leather by wiping the entire area with a cloth that has been dampened with clean water. Allow the leather to dry uniformly. Water “rings” caused by condensation from a glass may be removed by soaking a new sponge with room temperature water. Wring water from the sponge as much as possible. Starting at the ring, dampen the leather and move the sponge to the edges of the area. Moisture imparted should lessen as you move further from the ring. Gently wipe. Do Not Rub.

Small oil stains can be treated and successfully removed if addressed immediately. Using two or three fingers, briskly rub (an exception to the general rule) corn starch into the stain until feeling friction heat. Heat will loosen the oil, allowing the corn starch to absorb it before the leather can. Vacuum or brush the powder off, and repeat as required to remove the oil.

Pet urine should be cleaned using a commercially available product. Products for removing/neutralizing pet urine stains are available in most pet stores. Please follow all product instructions.

Ink stain removal “sticks” are an effective product for removing or reducing visible ink marks from most leather goods. For best results, follow all product instructions.

NOTE: Anytime you apply a “washing” or “cleaning” liquid to leather, you must do the entire area, cushion or section in order to avoid a stained local area. Thoroughly dry areas that have had liquid cleansing before use.
