About

I enjoy pleasing my shoppers with good customer service and high quality jewelry.

I started creating simple jewelry as a child but didn't make any for years while I was in college and starting a career. I came back to making jewelry because I wanted all my pieces to match my outfits and each other, but couldn't find what I wanted in stores. That is when I discovered I needed such a creative outlet. I am a serious introvert, so spending time alone in my glass and bead studio recharges me.

I started selling jewelry locally more than ten years ago and have many repeat buyers (thank you!). I love the look and feel of different kinds of beads and cabs. I also get pleasure from learning new techniques to make and incorporate those little treasures (oh, and collecting them). Inspiration comes from many venues, such as nature, art, science, and the materials themselves. I never lack for ideas, just time!

I find dichroic glass to be incredibly cool and wanted to have custom dichroic glass pendants to use in my jewelry. So, I bought a kiln and learned how to fuse glass 8-9 years ago. Now I have a whole room of glass (I collect it, too) and the equipment and supplies (and after much practice the knowledge) to make unique, high quality pieces. Glass is a complicated and challenging medium that is great fun to play with (and sometimes very frustrating). I get excited every time I open the kiln to see just what has been made of those small pieces of glass that I put in.

I have dabbled in polymer clay on and off for many years because it is an amazing medium. But I was lacking direction until last year when I decided I wanted to make cabs similar to my glass ones, but in colors and designs not accessible in glass. Finally, after many experiments I have found the methods that produce cabs that I like (perfectionist tendencies are both a blessing and a curse!).

My Etsy journey has been a pleasant one. I derive much enjoyment from pleasing my customers with good customer service and high quality products. When my energy is low, I read my reviews to recharge those batteries (thank you!). The Etsy teams are also amazing; I appreciate their unconditional support.

I have enjoyed designing and making jewelry plus glass creations for more than 10 years. This creative outlet (addiction?) keeps me sane and balanced along with the demands of motherhood and my career as a scientist and educator.

Shop policies

Last updated on August 13, 2014
Thank you very much for stopping by my handcrafted jewelry shop. I made every item in this shop from new, high-quality materials unless otherwise stated (I do occasionally repurpose vintage parts in new designs). I hope you find something you love and check back often, as I regularly add new items.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
Please pay within 48 hours to reserve your custom item(s). I accept PayPal and credit cards through Etsy. I am required to collect sales tax for items shipped to Maine (sorry neighbor).
Shipping
All items will be carefully packed and shipped (via USPS first class mail for US orders) as soon as possible, usually the following business day. For orders over $100, I will upgrade delivery in the US to USPS priority mail for no additional charge. Most custom items ship within a week.

International orders require custom forms; these will be filled out truthfully. Any duties imposed by the destination country are the buyer's responsibility as these are out of my control.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to love the purchases you make from my shop. If you don't, please contact me within 14 days after you receive an item to make arrangements to send it back for a refund or credit towards another item, or to be adjusted or repaired, usually for no additional cost. Please note you will be responsible for shipping charges, unless I (gasp) sent you the wrong item.

I make quality pieces that are as sturdy as possible (very few items that I have made have broken over the years, and when they have broken it was usually due to component failure, such as a commercial clasp breaking). If you do have an issue, please contact me and I will work with you to resolve the problem as possible.
Additional policies and FAQs
The majority of my jewelry is designed for everyday wear, but is elegant enough for many special occasions. Please do not hesitate to ask me questions about any item, or to request that I make a custom piece for you.

My custom order policy is a simple, no-risk one. I don't charge anything up front. I make the piece and send you a picture. If you like it, I set up the reserved listing for you to purchase. If you don't like the piece, you are not obligated to purchase it...and we discuss whether or not I should try again to fix any issue you have with it, or we agree to drop the order.
