Announcement    PLEASE READ: I make hand carved wood items, including Santas, Snowmen, Bottle Stoppers, Small Birds, and many others; when it's too hot or cold to carve, I make seed bead art work. Many of the items in my shop are not ready for shipment, but are part of my wife's collection or have been sold in the past. The photos are illustrations, but I will carve a similar one for you for the price listed. Colors shown are generally my defaults, but I can color to order on build to order items. If the item is available now, it will be shipped within a day or two. If it needs to be carved, it will probably take a week to 10 days; I can give you a better estimate on an item if you ask. My default shipping method is by USPS Mail to locations within the USA. If you would prefer another method, please let me know before purchasing and I'll tell you the amount of the new shipping cost.

I accept PayPal or credit cards for payments.

Foreign (non-US) sales: All my items are listed as shipping to US only. However, if you don't live in the US and would like to buy one or more of my items, please contact me and I'll get a quote for the shipping charges. If you accept the quote for the shipping, I'll change the listing to add shipping to your country and indicate the cost.

About

I make hand carved wood items in my garage workshop.

I started carving around the age of six when my father gave me a Kamp King pocket knife. I've carved off on and on ever since as family life and work life have allowed. Following university where I majored in Mathematics, I was a Navy officer during the Viet Nam war. After the war ended and I was released from active duty, I began working in the aerospace industry as a systems engineer, eventually ending up working as an engineer at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC. Wood carving has been important to me as after a full day of esoteric technical engineering work, I could sit at my workbench and do something with my hands - a great stress reliever.

I make hand carved wood items, including Santas, Snowmen, Bottle Stoppers, Small Birds, Halloween Decorations, Christmas Ornaments, and many others. Some of my carvings are made from patterns published in books or magazines, but many are my own creation. I have had three articles publlshed in Wood Carving Illustrated magazine and one in Early American Life Magazine, and I have won numerous ribbons at carving competitions.

On days that are too hot to work on carvings, I move inside and work on beadwork. My beaded items are all original designs using 11/0 beads.

I am a retired aerospace engineer and have carved for most of my life, as family life and work allowed. I like to carve most everything, particularly Santas and snowmen. When it's too hot to carve, I move inside and create original design beadwork.
